Got new motherboard but now battery cannot be identfied comes up and will not charge battery.any suggestion.
SOURCE: BATTERY CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED
Generally this is an indication that the battery has failed. The normal life span of a PC battery is 300 to 500 recharge cycles (Roughly 12 to 18 months) so the most likely answer is buy a new battery since this one is already out of warranty

How old is your laptop?
If you have had your laptop a while now it is very possible that the battery on your laptop is becoming weak, or is about to go out.
The first thing i would do is remove the battery.. Make sure that their i'snt anything like dust, animal hair, ect, that would be keeping the battery and the laptop from getting a good connection.
The 2nd thing is their really isn't away to test the quality of a laptop battery for someone at home unless they have two of the same laptop. My only other suggestion to ya b4 you go out and buy a new battery is if you can find a good computer shop in your town, just go into it and see if they have any batteries that will work in your laptop and see if you can try it in it and see if you get the same error, or if they can try putting your battery in thier laptop and see if its bad.
Other options espically if you dont care if its used you might beable to find a replacment battery at.
Ebay.com just search for the item your looking for, by Band of the computer. the battery sometimes will have a model # on it also. Just take it out and see if their is any stickers on it.
Other good website is
Egghead.com
if you decide to try to find a cheaper solution to finding a replacement battery if it is needed.
Please rate me, and or leave feedback. Ty
and Good Luck.
