AND THE PROBLEM IS ? .

Testimonial: "formatted my hard drive recently and lost the sound on my second hand packard bell imedia...now the orginal os was windows xp home edition oem...now since i dont have the xp home cd i installed a copy of xp pro,in the main it works fine just without sound....i bought DRIVERUPDATE from microsoft thinking it would solve my problem but alias it never..it did download a realtek ac97 driver but failed to install it fully...guessing it was not compatible......i have looked on the packard website but if im honest im at a loss because im not sure of the right drivers to download...hope that helps resolve this issue...many thanks."

I suggest to visit the manufacturer's website. If manufacturer has changed BIOS or Update the BIOS, the patches or new BIOS will be available there.

I have the same problem and its all ready got the driver there and when i go in to system managment and reinstall multimedia audion controller it shuts down i installed driver finders which were suggested in a few forums and they find every other driver apart from the one thats messed up help ????

If it is not on the packard bell website, the only thing I can suggest is to try a driver finder program. Could find the right driver for it.
