I just recently purchased my dehumifier within the past 2 weeks and it constantly runs, however it has YET to collect a drop of water!! My basement is extremely humid. I have check to make sure nothing is blocked. Please advise.
The only thing you really need to check is that collector coil that the the water is supposed to condense upon, much like the "sweat" on a glass of ice water. If that collector coil is not nice and cold, then your machine needs freon or has some other serious problem.

I have a GE AHK40LKG1 dehumidifier that is two years old. The fan and display come on, but the compressor will not run. It will start and runf for approx 30 seconds and then shut down, this process just keeps repeating. Any ideas. I do not think it is the capacitor or the compressor but rather the circuit board or the capacitor motor (I do not know how to trouble shoot these items)
