You can try 'knock' this to try free it but the motor that controls the focus is probably siezed.It's fairly common to get zoom/focus error with several types of compact camera, I think the cause is probably being switched on while in a case.
I've dismantled one down to components to find it was the motor itself and been unable to do anything!

Was taking a picture in 'macro' mode turned camera off then when I turned it back on the lens came out but I got a 'FOCUS ERROR' message on the screen.
Is it fixable? Is it worth fixing or will the repair cost more than a new camera???
