How do I adjust the tear off length of the printer label on a PM4i

I think the setting you are looking for is commonly reffered to as the label restpoint for Intermec.

Intermec printer prints slow

The print speed is surely the bottleneck. I did find this:

http://apps.intermec.com/downloads/eps_man/937-028-003/Content/Print_Speed_Set.htm

Page 65 of the manual discusses adjusting the print speed, for "fingerprint" not IPL. (I'm not sure what that refers to, but it appears to be the language used by the printer.)

Intermec PX4i printing blank labels

I found the following item on page 3 in the printhead installation manual:
"Note: If you are installing the 400 dpi printhead on the PX4i

printer (Kit P/N 850-812-900 IPL Only), you must first

update the IPL firmware to version 2.74 or later."

I assume this is a partial exception to the general caution on page 1 of the same publication:

"When installing a printhead, make sure that the printhead

density and alignment is the same as in the one you replace

and that the printhead is designed for the type of printer in

which you are going to install it."

Also, the printer should not be powered when the printhead is being installed. The printer does not identify the printhead until it goes through a power-on startup.

Is it possible to view prints sent to a Intermec PM4i printer? Reason is we are testing label printing to a label printer in the UK and would like to see what is being printed on line perhaps via a web...

Hi Karen - with Label Printing Software such as LabelView Pro and others from Teklynx and Bartender you can have multiple software licences that can be linked remotely if your printers are network ready. Using advanced rather than basic software you will have full control of exactly what is being printed/not only having it viewable. I hope this helps

The Thermal transfer labels are not readable when I print to the Intermec easy coder PM4I. They print too light. I can use the same ribbon and label stock on an Intermec 3400 printer and they print...

You can adjust the darkness level +/- 10. If you adjust it all the way to 10 and it is still too light, there is a print head pressure adjustment screw to the left of the ribbon feed roller.

Intermec PM4i I have 4x6 labels in the printer. All my settings look correct. It prints like it thinks its a 3x4.

Check your driver to make sure you have the correct resolution driver installed that matches your print head. For example, if your print head says 203 dpi on it but you install the 300 dpi driver, it can cause this problem.
