900-0113 kidde alarm beeping 16 and 217

I have model 900-0113 kidde alarm. I got up to get some water and turned the lights on. I noticed a constant slight ringing/buzzing sound coming from my alarm. I went to look at it and even though it was making the sound (which was pretty quiet) it still showed a " 0 . " with the red dot blinking next to it. We hit reset and when we did that it flashed "16" and then beeped again and flashes "217" and then went to "888" and now back to the "0." With the little red dot blinking next to it. We double checked our stove and oven and nothing is on, fireplace disconnected, I'm not sure what to do? It doesn't smell like gas and I read online that 217 could be a error code? Please help! I have two kids asleep

SOURCE: Alarm keeps beeping, reads 0

Try testing it first. Press the test/reset button. If it's operating properly on the display:
"GAS" - and it should beep 3 times. Then a number should appear on the display. It should be arround 200. Then it should beep 4 quick times, then nothing for 5 seconds, then 4 quick beeps that keep repeating. It will then show 3 numbers again for a few seconds. When they're gone it will be done resetting. It should show a flashing red light and a 0 or whatever the reading might be. Try this and let me know what happens. If this fixes the problem please rate as fixed. If not, please don't rate yet. Let me know what's going on and I'll be more than happy to help. Thanks.

HOW TO TURN OFF Co2 Alarm BEEPER?

Question edited for clarity. Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING and is harder to read.
Question moved from Washing Machines Category.

Is it hard wired or battery powered? Replace batteries. Remove the cover and vacuum it with the circular vacuum brush.

If it is older than 10 years it needs replacing. If it is a Kidde, there is a hard wired electronic timer in it that beeps at 10 years and doesn't stop. It is written in tiny writing on the back. I found that out the hard way. :>)

There is also the possibility that there is a constant Co2 source from something, heater, furnace, stove etc.

https://www.google.com/search?q=why+does+my+co2+alarm+keep+beeping

Also, Carbon Monoxide is CO, not Co2 (Carbon DiOxide). Unless you are in a beer cellar with Co2 dispense by a gas bottle. I had one, I owned a pub.

Why is Model KN-COEG-3 Kidde Carbon monoxide and smoke detector keep beeping when I replaced batteries with fresh ones and it just keeps beeping every 20 seconds?

It is time to replace it. From the instructions.
IMPORTANT: Seven (7) years after the initial power up, this alarm
will "beep" every 30 seconds to indicate that it is time to replace
the alarm. Replace the alarm immediately! It will not detect CO in
this condition.

In new 3-alarm system just installed by electrician the alarms issue 3 long beeps and "FIRE" about every 10 minutes. Kidde is not available to help. Can you?

I think it could be one of three things.
The electrician may not have installed the back-up batteries.
The electrician may not have turned the primary power to the detector circuit on when he completed the work and now the battery is depleted.
The electrician may have tied the the detectors into a switched circuit which does not apply constant primary voltage.

Hopefully you can contact the installer to troubleshoot his work.

New smoke detector, new batteries, red light flashing is that normal

copied from the manual, available at the kidde website

RED AND GREEN LED INDICATORS This smoke alarm features separate red and green LED indicators. The LEDs indicate the following: GREEN LED CONSTANT ON - AC power is present. OFF - AC power is not present. RED LED - Can be seen through the Push-to-Test button. Blinks once a minute - Indicating presence of a working battery. Blinks once a second - Smoke alarm senses smoke and simultaneously sounds an audible alarm. Blinks once every 10 seconds - Smoke alarm is quieting an unwanted alarm (Model ADC only). (Interconnected system only): OFF - Another smoke alarm in the network has sensed smoke and is signalling this alarm.

Detecotrs have a limited lifespan of 5-7 years. So sounds like you need new one (Its not worth to buy just a sensor). Take a look on amazon Amazon com smoke alarm detector (watch out on reviews). I hope this was helpful. cheers

Hello I have a KIDDE FYRNETICE smoke alarm.

According to the Kidde website, this unit was discontinued in 2010. If the unit is more than 10 years old it must be replaced per NFPA 72 (assuming you live in the US)
