YES!!!! If this unit is working properly you should not be in the house. Maximum allowable safety level for an 8 hour period is 50! If you think it's working properly call the fire department! This will cause dizziness, nausea, etc. Let your fire department find the problem! If you don't believe me follow this link to owner's manual but do it quickly: http://www.kiddeus.com/utcfs/ws-384/Assets/KN-COB-B(9CO5)en.pdf

SOURCE: My nighthawk Kidde carbon monoxide detector keeps

Some models of Carbon Monoxide Detectors will give an audible beep every 25-30 seconds after it has sounded an alert alarm. This may have happened when there was noone home to hear it. A periodic beeping sound may also indicate it is time to change the battery.

Solution: Install a new battery and check your manual for instructions on how to reset the system. Check the expiry date on your unit, it needs to be replaced after 5 to 7 years, according to the manufacturer specifications.

If you are in doubt that your Carbon Monoxide Detector is not working effectively, REPLACE IT. Your safety and your peace of mind is worth it.

SOURCE: our kidde battery operated Carbon Monoxide

Relocate it to an area of fresh air - outside will work.. Does it still beep?
If yes, recover the new battery and toss the unit.

Do you have it located in a steamy damp area? Laundry room, bath room etc.. That will cause it to malfunction too..

SOURCE: carbon monoxide detector err code

Detecotrs have a limited lifespan of 5-7 years. So sounds like you need new one (It's not worth to buy just a sensor). Take a look on amazon: Amazon com Carbon monoxide detector (watch out on reviews). I hope this was helpful. cheers

It is time to replace it. From the instructions.
IMPORTANT: Seven (7) years after the initial power up, this alarm
will "beep" every 30 seconds to indicate that it is time to replace
the alarm. Replace the alarm immediately! It will not detect CO in
this condition.

My Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide alarmmodel no. KN -COSM-8 started to beep in the middle of the night due to low batteries. I changed the batteries and pushed reset/ hush but still beeping.

If its inbetween 6 until 10 years old i recommend in that case to replace the unit because of its chemical compounds and radioactivity materials that will in most cases saturated beware of slightly radioactive material if trying to inspect for defects.

My Kidde Model # KN-COEG-3 keeps going off and lists 217 now 205 now again 217 and this is with the door open and fresh air coming into my place ??

I took the following from the Kidde website. They only answer the phone Mon-Fri, from 8-5, EST. I checked it out because my almost new Kidde CO detector is showing an Error code.
The next time your carbon monoxide alarm has ERR on the display, push and hold the Peak Level button. You will see an E and an O followed by a number.Contact our hotline at 1-800-880-6788 and provide us the error code, along with the model number, assembly number and date of manufacture from the back of your unit.If your unit is under warranty, a replacement will be mailed to you.
