Can't get 2 remotes on at the same time

I can get one remote to work with 2,3 or more players, but I can't find any instructions to set up (for example) 2 players.....each with their own remote.

I am having the same problem.

  • Anonymous Mar 29, 2009

I'm having the same problem too...  Can use 1 remote for 2 player golfing, but can't play any of the party games because there aren't enough remotes connected even though there is another remote there, and we've pressed every button combo we can think of, tried reconnecting via the wii remote settings, everything we can think of, still no luck.  What the hell?

You have to start the game then press the home button on the remote. Go to WII and select the menu for the remotes. Click on reconnect. Press the 1-2 buttons on remote #1. When it lights up on the screen, press the 1-2 buttons on remote #2. Select close out remote settings, go back to the game. Select two players and each player can have his/her own remote.

Ok/select doesn't work with magnavox dvd player

Hi, make sure you Comcast remote is in the "DVD" mode before attempting to work the DVD features. If it is still not working. You need to reprogram your Comcast remote to a different Magnavox DVD code because the code it is currently set for not fully compatible. If you need the instructions to reprogram your Comcast remote go here. If you would like to purchase a new Magnavox DVD player remote you can also search on Replacement Remotes for your DVD player's model number located on the back of the unit. If they have it, it will show for purchase.

Samsung DVD-sh855 region codes

Hello lincvtssgen3,

I referred to a few sources I have for DVD region codes, and there are no known instructions for that exact model. However there is one for a DVD-sh855M so I will tell you step by step how that one works. Hopefully it will be the same for yours. Please read over the instructions before you begin as I did add some side notes etc in there.

1. Press the Repeat button on your remote control
Don't confuse with the Repeat A-B button

If your player was purchased in Region 1:
Press the buttons 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4 on your remote control, in order one at a time
If it was purchased in Region 2:
Press the buttons 5, 7, 5, 3 and 8 on your remote control, in order one at a time
For Region 3 players:
Press the buttons 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2 on your remote control, in order one at a time
For Region 4 players:
Press the buttons 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4 on your remote control, in order one at a time
For Region 5 players:
Press the buttons 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4 on your remote control, in order one at a time
For Region 6 players:
Press the buttons 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2 on your remote control, in order one at a time

2.The numbers 01 or similar current region code will be displayed on the top left of your onscreen display

3. Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 9 for multi-region playback
Note: The above step may be time sensitive and need to be performed quickly

4.Open your DISC tray and leave open for 15 secs.

5. After 15 seconds have elapsed, power off your player and the DISC tray will be closed and player shut off.

6. Power on player and it is now set to the new region code you chose in step 4 above.

Post back with any question's or comments so I may be able to assist you further.
Thank you for choosing Fixya.

Wii hand will not show up we tried syncing, taking out batteries, unplugging and plugging sensor bar and nothig works

Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote included with your system should already be synchronized to your console. However, all additional Wii Remotes you use with your system also need to be synced in order to function properly..
There are two different modes of synchronizing (syncing):
  • STANDARD MODE - The Standard Mode procedure is used when adding additional Wii Remotes to your system or if you want to re-synchronize your original Wii Remote. Once synchronized, the Wii Remote will stay synced to the console unless you overwrite the settings by syncing the remote to a different console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please click here.

  • ONE TIME MODE - This mode allows you to temporarily use your remote on a Wii console other than your own, or to use a friend's remote on your console. It can also be used to change the order of the Wii Remotes, without the need to turn off the Wii console. One Time Mode does not delete the Standard Mode setting stored in the Wii Remote. In this mode, the Wii Remote will only communicate with the Wii console while the power is on. When the power is turned off, the Wii Remote will lose its sync with the Wii Console. For instructions on One Time Mode setup, please click here.
Note: Only a Wii Remote in Standard Mode can turn the Wii console power ON or OFF.
    Standard Mode Synchronization
Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote (how to).
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
  5. wiiremotesynchstandard.gifThis procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.
Go to the Next Step (Playing Game Discs) >

One Time Mode SynchronizationNote: This mode temporarily removes Standard Mode synchronization setup for all Wii Remotes until the power of the Wii console is turned off. When the power is turned back on again, the Standard Mode settings will return.
  1. Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.
  2. installation.gif
  3. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.
  4. homesmall.gif
  5. Select the Reconnect Option.
  6. wiiremotesynchotm1.gif
  7. Press the 1 and 2 Buttons at the same time on the Wii Remote that you want to synchronize with the console. If you are syncing multiple Wii Remotes, press the 1 and 2 Buttons on each Wii Remote immediately (without a significant pause) in the order you want them synced. The order in which you synchronize Wii Remotes determines the player order (1 through 4) for multiplayer games. The Player LED will blink during the syncing process. When the blinking stops, the connection is complete.

The Wii Remote for the second player does not work. Once in awhile the blue lights flash. We have tried to follow the instructions for synchonizing the remote with the console. And we have put in fresh...

Our grandson emailed the solution.
Turn on the Wii and open the game menu.
Click on the Home button.
Click on the Wii remote settings at the bottom of the screen.
Press "Reconnect" and then hold 1 and 2 on both remotes.

We will have to follow these steps every time we want to use the Wii.
It seems like a 'bother', but it works. At least so far.

Universal remote code for an etec dvd player

I have the exact same model and it came without a remote. I was able to set it up so I can work it off of the Comcast 3 in 1 remote but the button layout is extremely confusing. I am currently looking for a replacement remote that would be easier to use since my wife can not get it to work at all off the Comcast one. Follow the instructions in the Comcast Remote Guide and you will find a code to make it work by doing a random search you just have to keep trying it will take some time.

I do not have my ilo dvd code for use with a universal remote control

if you still have your paper work for your universal remote, you may want to start there. Most remotes have an option that allows you to find a code...unfortunately, it doens't tell you what that code is. Most of the time it tells you to turn the unit on, and then set the remote up and then press the power button continually until the unit turns off and then you press set or enter. I've had to do that on several older remotes for newer equipment where I didn't have the codes. Look for instructions like that on your instructions...if you no longer have the instructions, try going to the remotes manufactures site. Philips has theirs online, and I imagine that most others would too. I hope this helps you!!

I purchased a Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK and connected it per instructions. I was able to do the Intitial Setup, and program the Remote to recognize the TV, but now I can NOT get the Remote Programed! I follow...

The remote lost connection with DVD set. Push OK and hold while you Push #1. This will reset the remote. Connection instructions with set are wrong! After re-wiring, everything works great! I had to call Panasonic and sit on hold, but they were very nice.
