How do I set up my original remote for my Dvd1041? It has never worked.

When I bought the DVD player the remote didn't work. It was only used a couple of times but now the DVD player we received for Christmas 2013 is saying baddisk. I need the Curtis DVD player remote to work now. How do I set up the Remote?

SOURCE: Curtis DVD-7620 (7600 series) Combo VHS / DVD Player - what is remote code?

It all depends on the brand of remote your trying to program, for a nexxtech the codes are one or the other 0929 or 0928.
Try typing in the search engine for example Curtis vcr/dvd7600 RCA universal remote codes. You may get better results.
I hope this helps you.
If not at least you will learn how to use the different code retreival methods they don't tell you in the booklets/pamplets that come with them or if you lost it.
Good luck

Do you have the owner's manual?

If not, you can download it at www.curtisint.com at the support section search for "Manuals And Downloads" thumbnail at the top of the site, and then, search
for your model in the manual catalog as DVD 2100 and download it! It's in PDF format and you will need Adobe Reader if you don't have it, download it from www.adobe.com/reader .

For your solution:

- open your manual at P-35 GENERAL SETTINGS - "Restore Factory Settings".
- With the remote control, press "SETUP" and you should see a menu box with:

1- General Settings
2- Playback Settings
3- Record Settings
4- Language Settings
5- Channel Scan
6- Clock Settings

- Choose the General settings and then go to "Restore Factory Settings"

Restore Factory Settings
1. In the General Settings menu, use the or button to select
the Restore Factory Settings item and press the SELECT
button. The OSD will display as follows.
2. Use the or button to select OK .
3. Press the SELECT button to restore all default settings.
When your unit doesn't work properly, it may probably result
from some wrong settings. Please try the Restore Factory
Setting function to see if the unit can restore to its normal

I hope that will help you! If you need more details, don't hesitate to e-mail me!

Remote won't work but can manually operate

you do the camera tricks just to ensure if the infra red sensor of the remote is working. get a digital camera turn it on,then get the remote controller. press any button at the remote controller pointing to the digital camera, if you see a light at the display of the camera then the infra red sensor is good but if no light either the sensor is worn out or the circuit was defective.

Hi Tried already codes 147 & 256 w/Greenbrier

Hi Carlos,

First of all thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.com.

My first advice is to confirm if your remote control is working fine by aiming the infrared emitter(sensor) directly to your cellphone camera, while pressing any button key, you can see the flash of an infrared through your camera indicating that the remote is in good condition. Watch the video below for more info.

You are entering the right codes for Apex DVD player. And this remote control has only two 3 digit codes for Apex DVD (147 & 256).

If the two codes didn't work to your player, I would advice you to do the auto code search mode. At this state, the remote control will automatically find the compatible codes available from its memory. Follow the steps below.

> Turn on the DVD player.

> Hold down [SET] and the device you want to set (AUX) so that the red LED light goes on

> Press [SET] again. The LED will start flashing

> Press [POWER] button continuously until the DVD player turn off

> Once the DVD player turned off, press the device key(AUX) you are working with to end the setup

Please be patient while doing this steps because the remote control will try to find the compatible codes listed on its memory.

If the auto search mode didn't work also, this is an indication that this Model no. is not compatible (no compatible codes) to the remote control.

Again, thank you!

Have a nice day and take care!

Kind Regards,

Mjsazon

I've just bought a new remote control as the original isn't working. Is there a set up routine that one has to follow?

If you bought exactly the same remote, then it should work without doing anything (just make sure it has batteries) if you bought a Universal Remote, you should input the codes for Panasonic first.

Hello, I recently bought an Onkyo HT-S9300 home theater system. I am trying to get it to work with my DVD player using optical cable for the sound, since the DVD player does not have HDMI output, but I...

In your DVD player audio setup change the digital output to bitstream. You have not mentioned which DVD player you are using.

Some players it will be given
Digital Out - Off/ On select On
Dolby Digital - Dolby / PCM select Dolby
DTS - On/Off select ON

Sansui VRDVD4000

Universal remotes rarely fully work with these type of units. Call Orion customer service 800 289 0980 to price an original remote.

Unlock - DVD player -TOSHIBA model SD-P91SKN

OK...Here's an old trick-just might work. Take the original remote from your machine, go to one of those big stores that has shelves of plugged in demo players, point your remote at the demo machines, and press the power on/off button on your remote. The machine that turns on or off to your remote is the one that uses the same factory codes as yours. Write down the model number, and brand of the machines that work off your remote-hopefully there will be more than one- and run the search through www.videohelp.com 's data search page. Sounds like a long way to go-but that's why I use this as a last resort.

Universal Remote Code for Dynex 20" TV/DVD

I just bought a 32" dynex lcd and saw that i couldn't program my two $5 ge remotes to work it. From reading in this forum and others I'm not the only one with the problem, I thought I was stuck with only the dynex remote. But the dynex website tells you how to get universal remotes to work,
It tells you to try the codes for Orion, Emerson, Memorex, Sansui, Sylvania, Zenith. The second orion code worked for me. both my ge remotes look and work the same but one uses a four digit code and the other uses a three digit code. I used 0135 on one and 135 on the other. There is a good chance that if you try the codes for the brands dynex lists you will find one that works. The 0135 or 135 might work for most dynex tv's.
If you have a ge remote and haven't programmed it for volume punch through you might try it. It allows the tv volume to be controlled using the ge remote even when it's set to something other than tv.
