I'v done a hard rest. flashed the bios, did the process of elimination "removed everything from the lap top it self one piece at a time and tried to boot, but still nothing just on and then off right away" I cleaned the dust out of the heat sink, put really good thermal paste on and also bought a new AC adapter "I tested it and it does work." but still nothing... Thanks!

This sounds like a weird solution, but it worked for me. I recently bought a used Presario 2500, it worked when the guy showed it to me, when I got home it didn't work two days later. I tried several tips from the web, finally I started pushing several buttons randomly. I pushed the Email (Envelope) button, and the computer powered on suddenly. Now, the Envelope button is the only button that will power the computer on. When the computer is on, that button will also bring up Outlook, but when the computer is off, that button turns it on. Let me know if this fixes it for you.

Hi there.
The hard drive has failed and you will need to replace it.
If the laptop is under a year old take advantage of the warranty and send it in to be repaired for free.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

seems that same System Files have been damaged. Try starting in Safe Mode or use the Recovery Console from the windows disk to repair the OS.

Had the same problem. In my situation it was related to the Graphics processor. Remove the memory access cover and apply firm pressure on the corner of the simm socket and see if it starts / boots. Also try downward pressure from the top side left of the touchpad. If it works then you need to put a shim on top of the GPU chip (between the plastic base and the GPU). I used an old rubber foot from an old case. Reassembled... so far so good. Note: if you look at the GPU you'll see that it's glued in addition to being soldered. A manufacturing "fix"... obviously a known problem.
