Try pressing the aux button on the front of the reciever while the reciever is linked up to the tv ,if that dont work connect a red and black banana plugs into your aux on the back of the reciever and on the other end of the lead must be a head phone pin check size of headphone socket. to plug in to your tv head phone volune then u can control the recievers volume through the tv using the remote.go to menu then tv set up then scroll to the sound note icon press enter scroll down click on head phone and turn it up then you should have sound through the speakers from the tv.

SOURCE: using cable box and sherwood

Describing video connections lends no clue why audio isn't working.

Sherwood RD 7505 - video button under the input area doesn't work when pressed. Can't change the input to have TV come through the speakers.

Hi,

Please power cycle your tv and check that it's connected as it used to be when the video-button was working for you. You can also power cycle your sherwood device before attempting your initial procedure/button press again. If it still does not work, please test that your speakers are able to function with other items in your location in order to eliminate the speakers as the potential cause of the issue.

Thank you.

Sherwood RV-4050R compatible with new gear?

The TV is irrelevant.

BD would need HDMI, digital audio or 5.1 analog inputs on the contol receiver. You have none of these.

LG 55LH90 TV to Sherwood RD6500 receiver

That's what manuals are for.

Video Out on the receiver goes to Video In on the TV. That's all you really need.

I recmmend you grab any TV-related audio from wherever its source is for the highest fidelity sound (NOT the TV).

I just purchased a Sherwood RD 6513 reciever, I'm trying to connect a hd cable box (motorola dch 3200), dvd player (sony dvp ns710h) and a rca hd tv (l32hd41). I connected hdmi cords from both components...

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist you. I f you are going to hook up your cable box - motorola to the sherwood receiver, connect an hdmi cable to the back of the motorola cable box, there is only 1 hdmi output there, then connect the other end to the sherwood receiver on the hdmi input, then connect another hdmi cable to the hdmi output and the other end goes to your rca hd tv.

for the sony dvp, you have only one hdmi out, connect an hdmi cable to the back of the sony dvp if u have another spare. connect it to the hdmi input of the sherwood receiver. there is only 1 hdmi output at the sherwood, so u need to use a component cable to be connected at the back of the sherwood receiver component output then the other end goes to the component input of the hd tv.

if you dont have anymore hdmi cable to hook up your sony dvp, u can use component cable, the connection will goes like this, connect a component cable on the output of the sony dvp and the other end goes to the sherwood component input then connect another component cable to the component output of the sherwood and the other end goes to the rca hd tv on the component input.

I hope this will solve your concern, if you have any question, u can get in touch..

What to connect to where?

I would run toslink optical if you have it, if not then use coaxial digital from your TV output to receiver input. this will handle all the sound that goes with watching TV from any source(dvd player, cable, etc)

I would run the DVD player into the TV hopefully with HDMI cable so you get the surround sound.

the television can split off the audio information from the HDMI and send it back through the toslink cable to the receiver which decodes it into surround sound for your speakers.

Technics turntable plays but no sound with Sherwood receiver

The problem is the fact that the new receiver has no phono input. The phono input has an extra stage of amplification built in. Your receiver is working fine. You need to purchase a phono pre-amp. These run around $20. Connect the turntable to the preamp and the presmp output to any line level input on your new receiver and everything will work as expected.

PS-T3 connection to Sherwood 4105 Receiver

You need a phono stage (phono amp) between the turntable and receiver to boost the lower signal from the turntable. If your receiver has phono inputs, use those as there will be a built-in phono stage.
