Sound doesn't work on Sony Vaio VGN-sz480

If this is a persistant problem, check your ram memory installation .this sounds like a malfunction .Replace if you can

Please restart the Computer after installing the Camera Driver.
It is required to restart the Computer for the settings to be enabled.

I'd suggest ring back Sony support and tell them that your OS is Windows 7 - not Vista. Therefore, you need the upgraded VGA driver because the Vista driver is incompatible with Windows 7. Hope it all goes well. If my suggestion works for you, please do rate me. Thanks

Your laptop would be a wonderful candidate for Windows 7. Sony is doing a great job with driver updates and most things should work 100% right out of the box. If you have Vista, you can choose the upgrade version. If you have XP, you will need to do a clean install, Windows 7 will save your personal files and old windows installation on the "C" drive and will list it as windows.old, I would suggest though that you back up every file you want on an external drive before you start.

make sure you are well connected to the camera, and its usb port or firewall port are working,, to which ever you connect and check all drivers are installed,, and camera is also,, On

Vista Home premium drivers will work perfectly with Windows Vista Ultimate. When installing Vaio event service and Vaio Control center make sure that you run setup file as administrator. Right-click the setup file and select option "run as administrator". By reinstalling utilities this way they will work perfectly well

I'm confused. A Codec is used in an audio player like Media Player 11. If your computer has no sound when it comes on then you need a driver. I looked up your model and found a Realtek driver speciafically for your machine. You can download this at: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNS460. If you need an Audio CODEC for your media player I would suggest downloading PowerDVD from download.com to insure that your system sound is working correctly then you can use the Microsoft CODEC installation package to determine the real missing CODEC.
