Jut checking in to see how old this machine might be

Have an opportunity to purchase a used GE640 pot scubber dishwasher for $85. Was wondering how old this machine might be and if that is a good deal.

8 to 9 years old and id pass on it if it were me..

  • Anonymous Jan 25, 2009

i would check with a used appliance shop. you dont want to buy something too old and have to replace it in a few months.when they get too old seals start leaking and other problems crop up and can cause you extra expense. its up to you if you buy it or not but id have them hook it up and let it go through all the cycles and stuff before i pay out anymoney. make sure its in working order if you do buy it.

Keurig B70 problem, display reads not ready

Those brewers use air pressure to move the water around. There are problems with valves that overheat and get stuck. If you want to try and repair it, you need to take it apart.

Is this machine new to you or have you had it long enough to see it work properly?

If it used to work as it should then you know that there is probably a problem other than your water or soap. If you have whopping lime in your water then the problem could be in a water treatment system (softener, RO system, etc) Is there a screen and is it not plugged when you clean it? Does the machine drain the wash water properly? Does it spray in the rinse cycle?

If the screen is not plugged then it should be able to drain the wash water. If it's draining the wash water then you should get a good rinse if you're not using too much soap. If it's not draining the wash or spraying the rinse then I'd suspect the timer. If it's not draining I'd suspect a plugged screen, a solenoid valve or the timer. If it's not spraying the rinse then it's just about got to be the timer.

Need operating manual/parts for Sharp Copier Z-85 III

It is an old model. Good little copier though. The power cord should be no problem as it takes a standard power cord for most printers like HP or almost all computer power cords. If you don't have one lying around you could check about any used computer store.
The operators manual will be next to impossible.

Wondering if the pot can be put in dish washer?

Putting it in the dishwasher will not affect it. The only problem you might run into is having to wash it by hand anyway do to the caked on food around the top rim if it doesn't come off.

Broken coffee pot

Couldn't find any official Sunbeam site with replacement coffee pots. Here's the Sunbeam homepage. http://www.sunbeam.com/Category.aspx?section=kitchen&cid=243 Maybe you could use the contact us link at the bottom and ask them if they sell them separately. Otherwise, you might have to search on ebay or another site like that for a replacement pot.

Hope this helps you.

Installation & question I have an opportunity to purchase

Do not buy. Viking dishwashers are made by Asko and are prone to the same issues, which are numerous; if you have the cash go for Miele.

My tablet won't dissolve.

Sounds to me like the dishwasher isn't filling up with cold water. I had a similar problem a few months ago, caused by limescale blocking the inlet and drain valves. Might be worth trying some kettle limescale cleaner solution and putting it inside the machine - and leaving it overnight then trying the machine out with no dishes etc in it.
