Yes, the Acer Aspire 5532 comes with all essential connectivity features, for face-to-face communication with friends and family, you can use the built-in Acer Crystal Eye web cam available on the front screen panel. To access the webcam click my computer scroll down the mouse and in the scanners and camera section you will see the usb video device. Click it to activate the camera.
I'm guessing it's a built-in camera. In this case, if you open a program such as Skype or MSN messeger, you will have a pop-up window saying that the program has identified your web camera, and would you like to set it up. otherwise, these built in cameras have program which allows you to record images and mainly set your camera. Check in your "Start" menu for such a program
uninstall device in device manager, restart ,if computer automatically finds new hardware cancel it,go to the acer support web site and download necessary software and drivers for vista ,and install according to instructions
I would assume this is a built in web-cam. Normally a web-cam software comes installed on your computer and all you need to do start the software and the web-cam will start. Or you may use this link to get a free web-cam software. http://www.eyespyfx.com/my_webcam_broadcaster.htm Note, if the web-cam is not a built in web-cam this will work a bit differently.
i seems that your computer does not installed web came drivers. install it from the cd comes with the pc if you dont have one download from the acer web site.
Not sure how different the 4520 is from the 5920 that I use. I have a webcam built in and can use the camera with Skype, Live messenger or a video editing program I use.
For me I just opened those programs and clicked on the camera icon and it all worked for me.
Have you tried to use any of the above programs to see if the camera works?
I am assuming you have a built in web cam like I do.
