Remove web browser add-ons, Run a hard drive defrag, and virus scan. Remove any performance enhancers tools, disable startup items by going Start > Run / Search and typing MSConfig. Uncheck as many startup items.

your computer will only accommodate USB and a Type II PC Card ... it plugs in to the side of your computer, if your card is not PC Card then I'm thinking you are out of luck.
