I have an old cable lying around it has 1 serial plug a parallel plug and some others hanging on both ends. I can plug anything into anything in seconds. Obtain such a plug it you can. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Parallel-Printer-Cables-Parallel-to-Serial-Cable-5ft-/281215620527 Hey only $1
check fuse 2 as this would cause the 3 short 1 long flash code. Even if its not blown at least you can trace that part of the crcuit for other blown devices
My friend, converting X to Y never creates a X. You need the proper driver for your printer. If the manufacturer hasn't created a driver and your OS manufacturer doesn't support the printer, the last practical option is to find a 3rd party driver which you will probably have to pay for.
is it serial or parallel? If it's serial, You can change the com port settings (baud rate) to a higher speed. You would need to change the dips on the printer to read the same Baud rate.
