Why is the light flashing on the right side

If the light flashing is the "light bulb like button" or the "Ready/Light" button, it means that either the printer is:

• The printer is busy receiving and processing data or printing.
• The printer is printing a directory, font list, menu settings pages, or Print Quality Test Pages.

If it's Busy:
• Wait for the message to clear.
• Press and release Cancel to cancel the print job.
• Press and hold Cancel to reset the printer.

If it's printing a directory, a font list, menu settings pages, or Print Quality Test Pages:
• Wait for the pages to print. The Busy message is displayed as the pages print. The Ready light is on when the
printing stops.
• Press and release Cancel to cancel printing.
• Press and hold Cancel to reset the printer.

Printer won't print. I went to printer and it says there are 9 items to br pringted in queue but they won't print Printer says it is ready

Good Day Nanawhit!

That happens all the times when first print job encounter a problem and stops printing and it was followed by series of print jobs. Some reasons for stop printing could be a printer out of paper and printer not set as default printer.

The best way to fix it is to cancel all pending jobs. When print jobs window is cleared off pending print jobs, restart your PC and your printer. Then go to your printer and make sure it is the default printer.

After that try printing a test page. Once a test page is successful, you can now print as many as you want.

Hi there,
It seems that " Print on both sides (Manually)" is selected in printing options., when you want to print any document Go to file Print > select printer and click properties and disable the Manual printing option in device settings.
You should be able to get printing without errors,
if the option is not checked then check for the default paper tray,
save the settings and reboot your laptop/desktop and restart printer as well so that settings should work properly and any given command gets clear from memory, If these all settings are ok, Uninstall the printer driver and download the latest version drivers from HP website and install see links below

How do i get printer working

Hi,

Are you able to print test page from Printer ?
This will help us diagnose and isolate the issue further
To print self test page ( Demo page ), do these steps below

Press the right arrow button simultaneously. It should start printing the demo page.
If this works fine, this could possibly be an issue related to print jobs stuck in queue.

To clear print job stuck in Queue
Click on Start button
Click on Control panel
Click on Printers and Faxes
Check for HP Laserjet Printer icon
Right click on the printer icon and Click Cancel all documents
Once you have done the above step, disconnect the printer from PC ( if using usb ) or turn printer off

Restart your PC/laptop
Check under printers and faxes folder if the Printer status shows Ready and 0
You are ready to print

My printer refuses to print. The Red Status light came on so I checked and found there was a paper jam - cleared that. Can get green light to come on if I press the job cancel button but still cannot get...

Perform a Factory Reset

Turn the printer power switch OFF on the right side of the printer. Check that the front cover is closed.

Turn the printer power switch ON while holding down the GO button until the Toner, Drum, and Paper LEDs are lit.

Release the GO button. All LEDs will be off.

Press the GO button 8 times. The Ready LED will flash briefly while the printer is reset. After the printer is reset the Ready LED will be lit.

Print a Test Print Page

Print the Print Settings by pressing the GO button three times.

- If the Print Settings pages do not print, check for alarm lights on the printer. Clear the printer error before trying to print again.

- If the Print Settings pages print, the problem is isolated to printing from your computer. Verify the printer cable connects from the back of the computer directly to the printer. Click Properties from this Printer menu list.

Click the Ports tab. Verify the correct port is selected (LPT1 is using a parallel cable and USB is using a USB cable). Remember to click Apply if you select another port.

Click the General tab and Print Test Page button. The Windows test page should now print.

- If the Windows test page prints, try printing from a program.

After a ps print job is sent and printed by the

There is probably nothing wrong with the printer, but it may not be be receiving all the dope it needs. Usually the printer needs a CR/LF signal at the end of the file to print. If it doesn't get that it will assume that it hasn't got all the file and will hang. This may be a setting in the application producing the file, or a setting on the printer itself (i.e needing either a full CR/LF signal or just one of these). Don't like the idea that it doesn't print its own test page though....

Button sequence for head test (to look for banding)

Turn the printer off.
Load a sheet of white laser paper.
Press and hold the "Power" & "Ready/FF" buttons at the same time.
Release the "Power" button, and keep pressing the Ready/FF" button.
Right after you release the "Power" button, count 4 seconds, and release the Ready/FF" button.
Immediately, press and release the "Ready/FF" button one last time.
The printer should start printing a series of letters, numbers, horizontal lines and a black solid bar at the bottom of the sheet.
Once this test page is completed, turn the printer off to stop the test.
