Some models of the 75-822 do not offer this as a feature. Instructions for it are not included in the manual. I recently encountered a refurbished model packed with a manual such as this. Pressing and holding the "F" button toggles between Channel number and Frequency number display.

I looked into this an you may have to press the M4 button to switch from Weather mode to CB Mode. To change Stored Channels (taken form Users documentation): Dual Function ?F? Button ? The ?F? button is used to program the memory channel for the M1-M5 buttons. To program a channel follow these steps: 1. Turn your radio on and make sure you are in CB Mode. (AM) 2. Select the channel you want to program (i.e. Channel 4) 3. Press the ?F? button. 4. Press and hold one of the?M? buttons until you hear a beep. You have now programmed a channel into the memory. 5. To program other ?M? buttons repeat this process.

How can I get my midland 9001z from AM to FM

Hi Trevor,

The Midland radio you have is NOT capable of FM transmit & receive. It is a Citizen's Band radio that operates on channels 1 thru 40 that are assigned to the 26.965-27.405 MHz frequency range. These are the standard 40 Ch CB frequencies in the U.S. (and may not be legal for use in other parts of the world without a license from your country's communications authorities). It also offers Weather Band reception - again these are US frequencies that may or may not even be used at all in the UK. Since the radio only displays a channel number, you don't actually know the frequency you're monitoring or transmitting on. Your friends on CH 5 may be in a completely different band.

Even if they are on the same frequency, the fact that they are operating in FM mode means that you would hear something - but it may not be intelligible - and the same would be for them listening to you transmit in AM mode. If you could have them switch their radio to AM, all would be fine. I suspect they use FM as there is much less static when compared to AM.

If they won't change to FM, you'll either have to stop trying to talk to them or buy a radio capable of FM (and make sure it has the same frequencies as theirs!).

Good luck!

Kenwood tk-768 displays channel numbers. Can I get it to display frequency instead?

Hi Michael,

Simple answer is NO!!!

The way these radios are designed, as with nearly all 2-way radios, only Channel Numbers are displayed. This is to save space on the LCD display for the other icons to fit in.

I hope this answers your query with satisfaction.

Hi I have a Cobra 75 WX-ST radio. It is currently displaying radio frequencies instead of channels. How do I correct this.

Push and hold the memory key for 3 seconds to change back to displaying channels instead of frequencies. Do it again and it will go back to frequencies on the display.

Is the midland gxt 650 compatable with the g12

All type-accepted GMRS radios operate on the same frequencies and use the same type of transmissions. Channel numbers are the same on most models, but check the channel/frequency chart in the radio's operating manual to be sure.
