Reset code for zenith tv model z42p240-ub - Zenith Televison & Video

Have you checked the various power supply voltages?...are they all correct?

Yellow is the video connector.. if you don't have a yellow connection on the TV, try the red, green and blue till you find one that works. You might also need to change the input to get it to work.

joe, the remote control codes are not the same from vendor to vendor. I think you're trying to program a universal remote control to operate your tv, if this is so, you will need to get the model number of the universal set and refer to the product code list, look under tv and zenith, another procedure you may try is the code search, this puts out all the available codes programmed into the universal set, just follow the instructions and be very patient because like I mentioned it will take you through all the available codes untill it will send the correct one for your zenith tv.

Is there a reset buttom that can hold in after it is turn on , you may have to hold it for a few second
Then turn it off and back on again and see what happen.

In my manual, to control a sony TV.. the code is number 8 or number 9.

You will hold down TV POWER, hit 8 then release TV POWER.
If that doesn't work, try number 9. Once the batteries are removed, it resets the code, so write it down. It will also over ride your old codes once you input the new one.

Note: Depending on your TV, some or all buttons may not function on the TV, even after entering the correct manufacturer code.

with zenith you can only replace the eprom to reset the unit. once it is locked up.
