get a capture card, an AV cord ( red, yellow and white cord) and record it onto the computer. This will push the date and time stamp onto the video. There really isnt any other quick solution :-(, unless you sport 800$ for a highend camera, then all harddrive cameras have this problem.

try to use USB to plug your device to your computer. make sure that you have an installed driver for your camcorder to recognize your device on your pc. all brand new camcorder came with an installation software cd. now your ready to transfer your video to your computer. use any movie maker application like ulead movie maker, nero movie maker or windows movie maker edit it and save it. burn it to your vcd or dvd burner to play on your dvd player. if you dont have a driver i will find one for you. hope that helps!

You can connect to any computer with a USB port. It appears as a hard drive after you tell the camera to connect (in the menu). Then just copy the .mod files to a spot on yor computer; there will be one for each movie clip.
Your next chore is changing them into MPEG files at the correct aspect ratio. If you shot in 16:9 they will be squished together unless you use the SDCopy freeware utility to set the widescreen flag. It also renames and downloads files for you, and it's small. There's a link from this tutorial page, which also explains a lot about aspect ratios and such:

The camera works great with iMovie '09.
Connect the USB, choose Hard Drive on the camera, open iMovie '09, click the camera icon in iMovie, and away you go.
Download iMovie '09 @

Thanks. I connected vis usb and I have adaptor. It asks me how I want to connect (HDD or DVD copy) and I say HDD. I say HDD and it say please wait with an hour glass for a pretty long time and then tells me to uplug the USB cord frustrated..
Try bypassing it and closing the option and then look in my computer subheading to manualy open the folder.
Could be a D: or E: drive and so on.
thanks I tried that and it doesn't sow up in any drive. It is weird. I hope the video isn't trapped on the device forever.
