SOURCE: refrigerator doesnt get cold enough

If you remove the back panel on the inside of the cabinet then you would be able to check the evaporator coil (cold bit) and see if it is frozen up. If it is then defrost the system and see if you have any improvement. All the things you have pointed out over the compressor is normal, they do run incredibly hot. If you have got the freezer on a very cold setting I would suggest bringing both setpoints to a mid range setting. Check the temp in the fridge by measuring liquid temp as air temp is prone to fluctuate more. If you still have a concern I would suggest contacting a fridge guy to assist you. Hope this is of some if not limited help.

SOURCE: Refrigerator and Freezer Not Cooling nor Freezing

That leaves only one possible fault; the volatile component of your coolant/lubricant has escaped.
If the unit has been moved or cleaned carelessly, one of the coolant- bearing tubes has developed a leak. Any refrigeration tech will have a leak detector in his tool set so it shouldn't be difficult to find.
Depending on the area in which you live, expect the troubleshooting and recharging to run ~$150-$250 US.
If you reside in the US, check your local (area) Better Business Bureau for a trustworthy service company.

SOURCE: kelvinator fridge compressor running constantly, but freezer section barely freezing

CHECK THE CONDENSER COILS UNDER THE UNIT. THEY PROBABLY ARE DIRTY AND CANT REJECT THE HEAT.

My Whrilpool 3 Door Protton refrigerator was found cooling only freezer compartment, not refrigerated compartment. Local mechanic told that it is a defrost problem and replaced two bi-metal thermostat

this seems to be a major issue with whirlpool and kitchenaid multiple door refrigerators. The defrost timer device on the compressor does not function properly or fails and the cooling coils freeze up. Check the little fan that pulls air through the freezer coils to make sure it is running (that cools the refridg) if not running then it is bad and causing problem. Otherwise you have another bad defrost relay on the compressor. It's easy to change and cost about $25 at the parts store. I just defrost mine every six months or so since none of the ones I tried work very well. Its just a bad design that is still propagating in whirlpool devices.

Should the fan operate all the time in my refrigerator

Most of the time it runs only when the compressor is running. In other words compressor and fans will run together when the fridge thermostat ask for cold and stops together when thermostat is satisfied. In newer fridges some time inside fan (evaporator fan) might PERIODICALLY run without compressor to circulate little cool air to fridge compartment from freezer compartment.

Crystal cold lpg fridge the fridge part works fine but the freezer only cools to the same temp as the fride compartment

The freezer should go down to about zero degrees. If your unit is constantly running it is because the internal temp has not activated the thermostat to turn off the compressor. Lower than normal refrigerant levels could account for this. Also to be checked out is the evaporator coil not being frozen over with a block of ice - the latter is caused by an inoperable self defroster - this causes the freezer to not cool properly and raise all internal temps.

If not a self defrosting unit, defrost the unit and restart unit. It will cool properly until the evaporator freezes up again. How fast it freezes up depends on how often the freezer door is opened and how much moist warm air enters the freezer compartment.

Icepoint chest freezer ice101w is not freezing

Check power to compressor through thermostat. If compressor running but not freezing, suspect refrigerant leak. If sides are warm to touch, check to see if a fan is present in the compressor compartment on the side/rear and check it's working.

LG Model: LWHD1500ER - I would like the unit's compressor to remain on constantly. The temp guage seems to be off and shuts down the compressor. Can I bypass the temp guage to leave th ecompressor...

You can but the unit will have not control over temperature, and you can cause the unit to freeze up or slug the compressor w/ liquid refrigerant causing premature compressor failure. I would recommend replacing the thermostat if it is not holding proper temperature, but if dead set on bypassing it use a volt/ohm meter after unplugging it to find the normally open contacts and wire those wires together taking into consideration that the fan must run constantly with the compressor.

The frigerator & freezer are not cooling properly . i hear the compressor running . i have also diconnected cleanned inside and out but still the unit is not cooling properly . even on higest settings

If the compressor is running almost all the time (and the compressor sounds ok - no pinging/clunking),
then your side-by-side has developed a coolant leak.

When a system is low on coolant, the thermostat detects the warm condition of the refrigerator, and
runs the compresor motor in an attempt to cool off the refrigerator compartment, but if there's little
or no refrigerant in the system, the system's attempt to cool off the refregerator/freezer will fail,
with the symptom that the user wil hear the compressor motor running constantly.

Freezer not freezing properly

You have a manual defrost freezer . Ice build up of over 1/2" can act like insulation on wires . If you have no frost build up , and runs constantly , then compressor or refrigerant leak is the problem . Advise to replace freezer . Only 2 parts on manual defrost freezer...compressor and cold control . Compressor will not run if bad cold control . If you have a leak , very expensive to have repaired .
