Hello, I just bought new NW-E0003F, and My computer can't recognize it as removable device, so when I plug into the usb, nothing happens, but the battery is recharging.. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I already download the latest update for connect player.. but it can do me anything since my player can't connect to the computer..HELPPPP!!

Every time I try to connect it to my computer, it rapidly connects and disconnects. This has only happened since I downloaded the 1.01 firmware update, and it works on other computers (but this one has my music collection!)

Am trying to download Flash but the procedure recognizes nothing. My name. My Apple ID. And I have forgotten my password. For some reason my Ipad is fine but not my computer. Unable to access Youtube for anything.

Is there a free drive letter? Typically, USB devices want to be D, E, or F and if you're on a network and your drives start with F and you have additional drives and no free letters that can cause a conflict. Does windows detect the device at all when plugged in? If so, that's a good sign. If not, check in Device Manager for your USB ports and make sure you don't have any with yellow exclamation marks. From My computer, right click and choose Manage to check "disk Management" to see if your player shows up at a low level.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Computer does not recognize the player

Hi jowik,
Most websites are saying that this is a model Sony no longer supports or sells at the moment. The software required is SonicStage 3.0, same as you're probably using. However, it is more of a problem that the device isn't being recognized at all. Have you tried connecting up to any other computer? If no computer can recognize it (which shouldn't happen, but anyway) then there's something wrong with the player itself. When you connect, check for loose connections, and never use more than one USB extension at once. Many people use an extension of their own plus the one provided by Sony, and they have the same problem that the computer can't recognise the player.

Computer doesn't recognize my sony NW-E002F.

Try a different USB port on the computer. Preferably one directly in the computer (not on an external device).
Sometimes the computer has a hard time assigning it a drive letter because other devices might be using a letter the drive thinks it has to have. You can also try plugging the drive into a usb port and starting the computer from the off position.

My 2 usb ports on my monitor not working

In order for the two USB ports on the monitor to work, the monitor itself has to be connected to your computer via another USB cable with connectors that look like this:
8130925.jpg
The flat connector goes into an available USB port on your computer, the square one plugs into your monitor. Check if your cable is connected properly or exchange it with another one.
To eliminate that there is something wrong with your "not recognized device", plug this device into another USB port of your computer. The reason to preferably remove the device safely in Windows is that you can loose data if you just unplug it. If it is an external harddrive, it can get damaged, because you interrupt the power and the read/write head can get "stuck". So check this device on another computer or USB port.

If you have any other questions or something is not clear to you, just come back here and leave a comment and I'm happy to help.

My computer can't recognize it as removable device,

Your post:
in case you have not been able to solve your problem as yet, try the following: DO NOT CONNECT THE PLAYER TO THE COMPUTER as you have a format device on your player: firstly get rid of all your files you might need as you might have used your player as a stick secondly make sure that you still have got your OMGAUDIO file on it (if not, post that you need it, possibly I could help you with this) THEN
push the small button long, go to "menu" (the small briefcase)
push the large button and go to "advanced" by pushing the "forward button" on the side
push the large button again
a spanner will appear and "sound"
push the forward button again until you get"Initialize"
large button will say "reset", then reset but even better to solve your problem:
push forward again until you get to "format", forward to "ok"
large button and your player will be completely new formatted

get some converted music files on your player and it will work!!
I had the same problem, and finally I managed to solve it.
To be honest, I quite like my player!

good luck

SimpleTech hard drive not found by my computer

This may or may not help, but it worked for me! After about 4 hours of trying everything (Device Manager/Uninstall, Disk Management, etc..) nothing at all would work. The USB external hard drive would power up but when you plug it in, the New Found Hardware will pop up and search unsuccessfully for drivers for a PLUG AND PLAY external drive!?!?!

In any event, I simply plugged another USB drive into my laptop (and desktop) and viola! The new hard drive was recognized and installed immediately as 'plug and play' should do. I then unplugged the new drive and tried plugging in the one that was recognized and all of the sudden....IT WORKS AGAIN!!!!

This fix might not help anyone who doesn't have a second USB external drive, but you could try plugging another USB device in and get it to load and then unplug it and try your drive. It worked for me on my laptop and then I did the same thing to my desktop (which also wouldn't recognize it) and it worked on the desktop too! Problem solved for me, thank GOD!

Hopefully, this bypass can save you a few hours of google time and unwanted anguish. Like I said, you may not have another USB drive but try plugging in any other USB device until it loads and then unplug it and then plug in your USB drive that wasn't working. It worked perfectly for me.

Hope it helps!!!!
