Hi
My power chair error code shows that my right motor is not connected but there is power going to the motor and the motor is plugged in,not sure what the problem is,left it for a day and tried it the next day,it worked for a while then the error code appeared again (2 red bars and 1 yellow) on the controller.
Sounds like the wiring from the motor to the controler is not making good connection, try unpluging motor wiring from controller box. Use a plastic safe elec. contact cleaner and lube spray on connections. water in the joystick can also cause this.

Likely 2, 3, 4 or 5 bar flash code. If motors are made by a company like "ELE...." then motor wiring is likely bad inside wire insulation where wires go into motor cap. Rebuild motors and try again. This is a common problem with these motors.
This flash code is indicating that the right motor has a bad connection. It rarely is the case that the cable leading from the motor to the controller comes loose...it usually is the case that the motor has overheated and burned out a winding that makes it....toast, unfortunately. This can occur from getting stuck in the mud, sand or getting the chair trapped in a doorway, for instance, and trying to drive it against strong resistance. Also, I should add, that sometimes the controller "lies", and it might be the left motor. Swap the cable from left to right and right to left and turn on the chair and see how many flashes. If is shows three, then the right motor is probably shot. Also, and it happens a lot, if the controller(the box that the cables run into)has been damaged somehow, it may be giving you a false fault code. You have to have a known good motor to plug into the right motor connection, fire up the chair and see if that clears the fault. Either way, it is not a cheap, easy fix. Sorry for your problems.
9 flashes indicates a problem with the parking brakes. Check to make sure the brakes are engaged and the chair is not in freewheel. there may be a bad connection at the left and right motor connections and brake wiring. Check these connectors for separation and loose, corroded contacts. Reset the error code by turning the chair off and back on once you think you have corrected the problem. Hope this helps
hi, if it 's stays three pause three then the error "Left Motor wiring fault" , now I suggest you remove the lead from the controller and refit check the connections are clean and tight.
Your version has a Dynamic Controls model controller and joystick. Unplug the charger and engage the motor/brake lever so the chair is no longer in free-wheel mode (con't push by hand) Turn the chair off, wait 5 seconds, turn the chair back. If chair still does not run and your wrench is flashing you have a problem. Count the wrench flashes - the flash count indicates the error detected. 3, 4, 5, and 6 flashes indicate and error with the motors. 3=Left motor fault 4=Right motor fault 5=Left brake fault (may not be engaged) 6=Right brake fault (may not be engaged) Any other fault code usually means the electronics or wiring is bad and not worth fixing.
The jazzy probably has a VSI controller and if it is sleep mode then the lights will scroll rather than blink. Now turn on the chair and see if the blinks have a pause between them, ie 4 blinks pause 4 blinks pause etc If they do count the number of blinks and this will give you the error code ie 4 blinks right motor 3 blinks left motor your owners manual should have a chart listing the error codes If not you can contact Pride tech support @ 1-800-800-8586 ask for jazzy tech support
JRH, you didn't say if you put new batteries in the chair. If not some of your problem could be the batteries The lights on the joystick will blink a certain number of times to give you a "fault code" Use this code to determine the error. If after you rode the chair out of freewheel then the motor connection is not the problem. I'm guessing the batteries are the problem. Hope this helps
Hi. Sounds like a stuck or worn brush in the right hand motor. If one or both of the brushs are sticking, give it a light file on the sides of the brush until it slides in and out smoothly. Be carefull tightening the brush caps, as they can crack if tightened too hard, but they do need to be done up firm. Good luck. Neil.
