Most likely yes power supply need repairing or replacing, find a cheaper repairer it should only be $150 max as the repair kit would only cost around $30.

There is some over heating problem in you television. there will be two fans inside you television. if any of the fan get faulty then that section of you TV will get over heated and will shut off by itself preventing from further damages. Check the two fans. For that you have to open your TV.
