How to enter serial number and product number in my compaq presario cq62-310au

You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

go to the site of Compaq then support link enter sn will obtain the product number

Hi, not sure what your product is? but remember serial numbers are case sensitive, if they are capitals thats what you must insert. Come back to me with your product if this does'nt work!

If you are referring to registering your Compaq Laptop, you do'nt need to do that. If you referring to activating Windows, you ll need to enter the code printed on the bottom of your laptop. If you want serial number for any other product that came with the laptop you ll need to contact the company for that.

That serial number you provided goes back to an HP Pavilion DV6000.

Is that the original cd came off on the box when you buy it. If yes it should be ok.. If not the the cd is wrong..there is no way you can use the cd key anymore. you need a new OE with cd key.

If you have trouble activating your Windows using the Internet, then you need to activate Windows using the telephone method.
Follow the Activating process and select by telephone and enter your country and the screen instructions will give you the phone number to ring.

hi ashok, it's a major problem with the Compaq laptops...
as they donot provide display & audio drivers with the system!
you should search the drivers on google search using ur Model no. !

**NOTE: Even though your computer may SAY that it is a Presario V2000, it may have an entirely different product number for downloading drivers specific to your particular configuration.**

1) Look at the serial code on the back/bottom of your computer: there is a number starting with p/n (ex. p/nEX664UA#APL) This code identifies your computer beyond the V2000 label.

2) Go to the compaq/hp website: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/welcome.html#Support

3) select "Download Drivers and software(and firmware)"

4) THEN, enter your P/N Instead of "Presario V2000" into the product name/number box, and hit enter.

Select your operating system, and you will be redirected to a page listing all the necessary drivers for your model.

5) Scroll down the screen, and you will see a section where you can order free copies of the recovery cd. just enter your serial number from the bottom of your laptop.

try visiting the website www.hp.com------> on the top u'll find Support and Drivers Link, click on it

Download drivers and software (and firmware).



-------> now in the text box enter ur computer name "hp presario c700", i would strongly recommend u to enter the product number of laptop to get effeicient or correct result



product number: just upside your latop on its top or back you will find white color bar coded sticker with a hp logo you will find:

  P/N: which is product no, try to write it down and enter thisproduct no in the text box(effective than enter name of your computer) and press the arrow button beside it to start the searching



-------> no u will prompted to enter operating system, click the link under Select Operating system(click right OS)



------> u will find drivers(audio, video drivers......) in the page(try to explore the page) and download,
