Does it reset itself whenever the key is turned off? If so, it sounds like you don't have the yellow wire going to a constant power source. The yellow wire (Memory) needs to go to a source that still has voltage going to it when the key (ignition) is turned off.

If you have a multimeter or test light, you should check the yellow wire to make sure it still has 12v going to it when the key is turned off.
