Was working fine but it stopped
My daughter's Vtec laptop had the same problem. The black wire in the base of the mouse had broken off and had to be re soldered. To open the mouse pad remove the four rubber feet under the mouse pad. Use a small screwdriver to remove the four small screws and then lift off the cover. Check all the wires to see if any are loose or broken. There are two small circuit boards inside. The black wire I mentioned connects to the smallest circuit board and the solder connection is on the underside of the board.

When you move the mouse to answer a question it doesn't work. Clicking it does but moving it does not.
Mouse broke on ours too!!
Neither the buttons or the mouse on our Tote & Go responded. I opened the mouse and saw that there should be 4 springs holding the movable part of the mouse in proper position. 2 of the springs were off and loose. It was a 5 minute job of re-attaching the 2 springs. After that, all the buttons and the mouse worked again. I figure that without all the springs, the mouse was not centered properly and not making the right connections.
