If it works jumping it then the starter is fine. check fusible links to see if one is blown. check all contacts, engine grounds too, for corrosion and clean if necessary.

Testimonial: "Yes did every thing you said and found that the problem was the main relay fuse. must of saved me about $200.00 bucks."

Check main relay and it's fuse.

Get the battery charged outside the car.
You can get it checked and charged free at AutoZone and other shops.
?
?Several cars lately have had the same symptoms, and the problem turned out to be a bad ignition switch.
Since the ignition switch goes directly to the battery, it's worth a check.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: NO POWER !!! 1990 supra

I had an issue with the smaller wire off the positive battery terminal breaking inside the casing. Damn hard to find! I would suggest giving the wires around the battery a wiggle, and a feel. Could be a loose connection.

SOURCE: my 2003 toyota corrolla wont

More than likely it is your starter solenoid. The starter will have to be removed. Here is a link to tell how to get the starter out. http://www.ehow.com/how_6496417_replace-starter-2003-toyota-corolla.html

Van wont start .checked alternator. fuses and brand new battery still wont start. van started acting u when fuse to rad fan went out. engine light came on but since we live in cold area never heated up....

I think you're over your head here. Take it to a professional mechanic and let her sort it out. Sounds like your alternator isn't putting out the correct voltage.

My power steering was bone dry

Lacking power may mean a burned out pump but whine is caused by air in the pump. A mechanic had me jack up the front end of my van after I refilled the reservoir on the power steering. He said to turn the steering wheel from stop to stop back and forth at least 120 times to work the air out of the pump. Afterwards it seemed to work ok but still had a whine until I got rid of it.

When turning key all the way over it simply does nothing what could it be

Hi,
You'll likely need a new ignition switch. (The electrical side) You can confirm this by pulling the lower steering cover when issue is occurring, and using a test light on the black and yellow wire when turning key to "Start" position. If test light doesn't illuminate, replace switch. (Easy)

I've owned a a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager for a year now. I change my own oil in it. Twice now, when I'm done and checking the dip stick for the oil level, the stick is bone dry! The first time this...

The van must be on level ground while checking. after adding the correct amount of oil making sure to prime the oil filter before installing run the van for approx 30 seconds turn off and recheck after 1 min.

Car overheated sounds like it want to start but it wont

You could be in big trouble if the engine turns over slowly when trying to start when engine is cold (not warmed up). Check the charge in your battery and connections to make sure they are clean. If they are ok and it still turns over slowly and does not start you may have major engine repairs due.

1997 gmc jimmy wont start in cold

there are a few possible things. easiest to hardest, check your spark plugs for wear and gap. if its not the plugs it could be water in fuel system freezing. in colder enviorments it is always best to get highest octane fuel available because it contains less water. try adding an octane booster or fuel stabalizer when fueling up. also fuel filter may be at the end of its lifespan, it would take more cranking to suck the fuel through it if it is clogged.

Mini van wont start

It does sound like the battery. other items will work on a low battery but as kenh said there isn't enough amps to power the starter... it needs alot to turn over the motor. before you replace the battery you should test that the alternator is working properly. there is a simple test for it but i'm told as a safety issue that it's best left to a mechanic.
