SOURCE: how to recovery the system from recovery partition

Did you know you only get ONE shot at creating a recovery disc? And most of the time it is garbage, just like Vista.

He tried to put XP on it and failed? weird.

A couple things you can do...

1. Get your hands on a Vista disk. If you know anyone that works in IT, you can borrow a Vista disk. Do a complete fresh install. Use your "Product Key" and you will have your own Licensed, perfectly legal version of Vista.

2. Get yourself a copy of XP. Delete all partitions, then create a new one. Don't try to save that Vista recovery partition...it's toast. I recommend XP, but I'm a dinosaur.

SOURCE: how to recovery the system from recovery partition

As far as I know (I have a Toshiba though a few years old now) and do a Recover to Factory Default state from Hidden Partition every 6 to 9 months and I hav enever been told to Tap F1 but instead Hold down "0" i.e he Zero button on my laptop as I turn the Laptop On from an Off state by pressing the Pwr Button and ONLY release the "0" button when I get a Recovery Meny with 4 Options I think.

Your Model might be a different Button on the Keyboard so PLEASE check your User Guide/Manual for instruction.

regards,

Bastian

I losted my operation system, so I installed a windwon 7, now I want get my old opreation system back which is homevista, cani get it bac now?

When you first bought your PC or laptop, you would have been prompted by Windows Vista to create recovery discs, either CD or DVD. If you did this and still have the discs then you can simply put the recover disc into your DVD drive and re-boot the PC from the DVD drive (you may need to change the boot options in the BIOS or via a function key at boot-up).
If you did not create any recovery discs then there is a small possibility that there is a recovery partition on the hard drive. During boot-up, look at the text on the screen that tells you which button to press to get into the BIOS setup utility. There may be an option to start the recovery process, which would access the recovery partition.
If you have not got the recovery discs or a recovery partition then you will need a Windows Vista Home installation disc. The product key should be on a label on your PC or laptop.

Hi, i have a big crash with my Toshiba satellite pc, with vista family home edition(32bites) caused by a virus type TROJAN-win32. As I couldn't do the reboot from my computer I found a recovery cd of vista...

boot into safe mode with networking ,run malwarebytes and get that to remove the virus. if your disc isn't compatible you can try using neo-smart's recovery discs (http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/)and burn that to disc and recover your vista that way

best of luck :)

I lost all my disc for my laptop. Recovery disc installation disc etc. Where can i get replacements for them

Usually the manufacturer will not give you another recovery disc for free.
There are a few places you can buy them for about £15.

You could also download a copy of windows off a torrent file sharing site.
This is illegal... BUT..If you look at the base of your laptop and look at the windows COA sticker, this tells you what version of the OS you have..XP/Vista/7 and what version Home/Premium.
You could download the same version you had and just use your own Key.
I feel it is very bad that a windows disc or even a recovery disc is not given with a new laptop, but usually expects you to make one when you use it for the first time.
So I dont feel very bad about obtaining a copy of windows if i am going to use my own serial key that i have paid for with the new computer>

Not able to recover windows on toshiba l300

You need to get disk for Vista from anyone and then use your windows product key mentioned on the sticker on back of your Toshiba Laptop to install Vista again on your computer. But as you had already formatted it so all data is lost now.

I cannot remember my password to my acer laptop

The experience that I forgot Windows password happened to me a few weeks ago. And my classmate recommends me to take use of Windows Password Recovery 6.0, which is very smart and just take me a short time to reset a new password. It is great and you can find it on http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/windowspasswordrecoery.html

Hiya guys, My windows vista would not boot, so I burned Ubuntu flying disc and it loaded properly, and I managed to salvage my files from hard disk.. Now I really would need a recovery disc, since i don't...

Ok. Then you can Factory Restore your PC. Doing this, as you very well know, will remove all data and put your PC in a state which it was in when you bought it.
  1. Restart your PC(or turn it on)
  2. Fit F11(or anything that relates to recovery)
  3. Cancel the AutoDetect if it starts up
  4. When you land on the screen with a window that has quite a few options in it, look for one that reads Factory Restore/Recovery.
  5. Choose the option and wait for your PC to be restored.
This option is automated and really quick.
When you log in to your windows again, check if it is possible to make a recovery disc. If so, please get one done. This will help if your recovery partition goes for a toss. Let me know if you need more detail or help. If your problem is resolved, please rate.
