Most gravel sold today are pre-washed although gravel can accumulate grit in transit as the grains rub together therefore it is advise to wash them.

I have a Bosch Maxx Classic front loader about 15 y.o. Somehow gravel ended up in the system, and it eventually killed the motor. I replaced the motor, so now it spins, fills & drains water.

Gravel can't kill the motor. The motor is only connected via a drive belt. The only thing gravel can do is damage the pump as the gravel and water runs past the pump impeller!

If it doesn't turn in wash (low speed), but it does spin in spin mode (high speed), my guess is the the belt needs tightening or replacing.

Why has my aquarium gravel made the pH level in my tank rise?

It is most likely that the gravel you are using contains calcium and magnesium. This will ultimately cause the pH level in your tank to rise. You should use an inert gravel such as Swell Harlequin Gravel.

Why has my gravel made my water's PH level to rise?

The reason for that is because many colored gravels are made from white dolomite which contains calcium and magnesium. In order to maintain the PH level you should get inert gravel.

How do I clean the gravel in my aquarium?

You have a few different options for cleaning the gravel inyour aquarium:1. 1. Remove the gravel from the aquarium and washit thoroughly in a strainer, under warm tap water. Depending on the number of fish you have, this should generally be done once every other week. Do not wash the gravel with any chemical orsubstance as this could be damaging to the fish!2. 2. Use a store bought orhomemade gravel/substrate vacuum. Thisallows you to clean the gravel without having to remove it from the tank.3. 3. Use only a thin layer of gravel on the bottomof your tank and exchange with new gravel each time it needs to be replaced.

How do I remove gravel underneath washer tub?

To access the washer:
  1. Use a putty knife about an inch wide.
  2. Push the putty knife on the sides to release the top panel and lid clips.
  3. Lift the top panel back towards the wall.
  4. Tape the lid so it does not fall back and chip.
  5. Remove the two 5/16 inch screws on the inside of the front panel. The top of the front panel will come towards you.
  6. Lift the front panel off the clips on the bottom and set aside.
  7. Pull the washer out from the wall and lift up the front to access the belt. Support it with a block of wood.
