I have not used this computer in about a year, and when I turned it on, the monitor remains black and says it does not receive a signal. The power button then goes from blue to orange. I have made sure all the plugs are secured and have tried removing the small metal coin-like item inside of it for a few minutes as others have suggested.
There is a number of things that could be bad. First is the cable between the monitor and the computer and since you said you checked all of the cable connections we can skip that. Next if you have a separate VGA board installed it may have come loose or may have gone bad. Next is that if your VGA port is built onboard the mother board it may have gone bad and in either case buying a seperate VGA card should fix the problem.
SOURCE: No Video Signal
If you can't use the onboard video and it does POST or the PCI-E video card does show anything, most likely the motherboard is toasted. Apparenty gateway uses real poor quality power supplie and motherboards.
I have the same system, it powers on, but nothing. All I can assume is that the motherboard is bad.
SOURCE: No Video Signal
Try resetting the bios. On the motherboard there is a battery that looks like a watch battery. Remove the battery, then replace it again. (make sure the computer is unplugged from the wall socket when you do this)
Does this work?
SOURCE: monitor does not come on when powered on, it says no input signal
Check your video card. It sounds like it has went bad. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: computer powers up, but monitor shows a self test
Check the cables first, reset the monitor to factory settings. Check also your video card
SOURCE: slow flashing blue power lite. Monitor shows no
First when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.
If you are able to enter then go to start menu->control panel->display property ->settings.
Change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
But if you are not able to see safe mode and other menu.
Then open cpu cabinet .
Refix RAM memory.
Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes.
Reattach all connection harddrive.
Open processor fan and processor remove dust from all parts.
Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet.
Remove PCI cards if any.
After all above still same then change RAM then try.
