My Powerware 9120 2000 has low power alarm and shutdown at 50% charge

A Powerware 9120 2000 is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) device that provides power backup to connected devices in case of power outages or other power issues. If the UPS is shutting down at 50% charge and showing low power alarm, there could be several possible causes:
  1. The battery is failing: The UPS is designed to shut down when the battery charge reaches a certain level to prevent damage to the battery. If the battery is failing, it may not be holding a charge and may need to be replaced.
  2. The battery is not compatible: Make sure that the battery you are using is compatible with the Powerware 9120 2000 UPS. Using an incompatible battery can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
  3. The battery cable is loose: Check the battery cable connections to ensure that they are tight and secure. A loose battery cable can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
  4. The UPS is overheating: Check the UPS for any signs of overheating, such as a hot feeling on the top of the unit or a burning smell. An overheating UPS can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
  5. The UPS firmware is outdated or corrupted: Check to ensure that the UPS firmware is up to date and not corrupted. Outdated or corrupted firmware can cause the UPS to shut down or display error messages.
If none of these solutions solve the problem, it's recommended to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance. They will have the knowledge and expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose the issue with your Powerware 9120 2000 UPS.

GE LP33 UPS inverter failed to start

Dear Yared,

Did you try to give the UPS some time to recharge the batteries?
Seems like the batteries have reached their cut-off voltage and are not supplying enough voltage to the inverter.

Normally the dc boos circuit of the UPS will supply voltage to the DC BUS so maybe the problem can be found in the dc boost circuit or BUS if recharging the batteries is not helping.

Let me know.

Best Regards,

Ron

Power supply malfunctioning

Most surge protection power boards will protect computer equipment from mains spikes and surges.
A better and more expensive solution is to use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). These units provide surge and spike protection and also provide power in the event of mains power failure.
Make sure you select an UPS model that meet the power requirements of all your computer equipment that is connected to the UPS with a mains down time of say 1/2 hour to give you time to shut down your computer in an orderly manner.

I use a Belkin Surge Protector UPS 600VA, and run Win 7 64 bits. In "System Configuration", "Services" tab, Belkin APmonitor is stopped, and Belkin APMRMI is running. Nothing shows on...

2 scenarios will either play out at the end of the day:
1. During power outage, your UPS will continue to supply backup power for the number of minutes.it is built/designed to do for your PC after which it shuts down and your PC due to lack of power shuts down too.
2. if you've programmed your PC to shut down after say a short period it idles, your PC will shut down even though your UPS is still fully operational.

A third approach is to sync the situation/scenario you envisage by powering off your UPS power supply at the mains/wall receptacle.

Watch what happens next by leaving your PC idle but still connected to the UPS still powered on (but without the mains power supply to it)

The unit beeps

I am getting these directly from the user manual (available here: http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/ASTE-6Z7VAQ_R3_EN.pdf)

Issue: On Battery - UPS is supplying battery power to the load connected to the Battery outlets.

Visual Indication: Power On LED - ON (off during beep)

Audible Indication: Beeping 4 times every 30 seconds

Stops When: UPS transfers back to Power On operation, or when UPS is turned off.

- OR -

Issue: Sleep Mode - During On Battery operation the battery power has been completely exhausted and the UPS is waiting for utility
power to return to normal.

Visual Indication: None

Audible Indication: Beeping once every 4 seconds

Stops When: Utility power is restored, or if utility power is not
restored within 32 seconds, or the UPS is turned off.

All other issues are CONSTANT tones, which you did not specify, or there are no audible tones associated with it.

UPS shuts down when the mains is off.

Hi

After 3 years, i would by a new UPS...

The battery will have to be changed if you want to keep the old one.

What i've seen mostly here in south africa. When the battery life has ended they customer opens the ups and takes out the battery and then connects a car battery to the terminals. The then close the ups and let the car battery stand outside the ups.

Hope this info helps...

ONLY 2 MINUTES MAX OF BATTERY BACK-UP TIME BEFORE EVERYTHING SHUT

you can program your power bottom to hibernate, and connect the screen direct without the UPS, so you get more time...then when the electricity goes off, without seeing the screen just push the power bottom to hibernate.
