Xbox 360 door tray off track and will not close

First, do not attempt to try to fix it right away. Unplug every cable and adapter, so you only have the xbox 360 console. Then, if a video game disc is still in there, take it out. Next, try to determine what your disc tray is stuck on, and try to remove it carefully. If these steps do not work, look at these articles. Manually eject your Xbox 360 console disc tray Xbox Disc Drive Solution.

I have recently bought the latest Xbox 360 console and it has been fine until recently the disc tray decides to open and close randomly for example i'll be playing a game then the disc tray will open and...

First step is to check and make sure that 1.) There is nothing stuck in the tray slot (even something very tiny can cause issues) and 2.) make sure there is nothing lodged in the open/close button.

Tray won't close

Use the following steps to close the disc tray on an original Xbox 360 console.
Step 1: Remove the disc from the tray Step 2: Make sure the faceplate is on correctly
The faceplate is the plastic piece on the front of your console.
  • Press firmly around the edges of your faceplate to snap it into place (make sure it is flush with the rest of the console). If the faceplate is not on correctly, the disc tray won't close.
  • If you find that the faceplate is the problem, please contact Xbox Support to order a replacement faceplate.
If this does not resolve your issue, please try step 3. Step 3: Press the eject buttonTry closing the disc tray by pressing the eject button. If the disc tray successfully closes, open the tray and insert a disc. Now try opening and closing the tray with a disc in the tray.
Note Make sure that the disc isn't sticky and doesn't have any labels that could prevent the tray from closing.
If your disc drive still will not close, please try step 4. Step 4: Move the disc drive tray
  1. Gently move the tray up and down, and then from side to side.
  2. Press the eject button on your Xbox 360 console. If your disc drive still will not close, you need to have your console repaired.
  3. Step 5: Request a repair If the disc tray still won't close properly, your Xbox 360 console needs to be repaired.

My xbox 360 disc tray wont open how do i fix that problem

Slap the top of the the box as you press eject. that will get it open.
then wipe a little rubbing alcohol on the black belt
just under the tray . And a little petroleum jell in the
tracks under the tray . Then open and close the tray to
work it in.

Flashing on of button

It seems that there is already a problem with the tray since it wont close.. Unfortunately you wont be able to fix it yourself and you dont want to get that disc tray busted / damage.

What i suggest is to contact xbox customer support Good Luck! hope your console still has warranty
