SOURCE: blue power light keeps flashing, but the tv won't turn on

Same thing just happened to mine. I think these replacement lamps (L2114A) are nearly impossible to find. They are no longer available through HP and I've ben unable to locate one through a reseller.

I have sound but the picture is purple and will not adjust with the remote or manually with the buttons on the tv what can I do to fix this on the philips 36pt41b129

The unit has lost its green video information. This can be a picture tube or a green drive problem. The only colors you are getting are red and blue thus the purple picture. All picture tubes have red, green and blue guns to make all the colors needed for a normal picture. It will take some troubleshooting to determine whether it is a drive problem or the picture tube itself. Have a repair shop check it out for you. A 36" TV is worth a check out fee. Thanks for using Fixya. Let me know how it goes.

LC-23Y25 Problem with turning on power?

so i had the same problem. red light came on, but no blue light or anything on the screen. it turns out that there were some capaciters blown on the circuit power board. unless you have a good understanding of circuit boards, its not a quick fix. but for someone who knows their electronics, its not too hard, and its not expensive to fix, unless you bring it into a store. but the supplies needed arent expensive. good luck
