Try moving everything from your My Pictures folder to another folder. I know it seems like an odd solution, but there are some issues with Vista and the orbicam. Can't guarentee that's the solution but it may work.

Acer orbi cam not working

Ive found an interesting discussion about the orbicam at a website called the Acer Guy.

I am going to assume you are on Windows Vists unless I am otherwise mistaken. Click here to read what the site has to say and for possible suggestions on where to find the drivers for it.

Orbi cam not working when i open my cam

Orbi cam doesn't work with Vista in several of the Acer models, this is a common problem. I did however find a possible solution. Follow the link below, read it and the directions, then follow the link on the page for the drivers. I realize that it reads that it's for an Acer 9300, however downloading and trying the drivers will not hurt your system, it simply will not work, which is exactly where you are right now. You can always revert back to the old drivers. Let me know how this works out so I can advise others.

Acer orbi cam not working

If you're runing Vista, there is an issue with Orbi cam. It won't work on Acer 5000 series machines. Here's a link that may help. Read what it says and follow the directions. I know it says the drivers are for an Acer 9300, but it won't hurt your machine to try them, they just simply won't work.

If you're running XP you will need to reinstall the drivers. since you don't have the disc, try driverguide.com.

Acer orbi cam not working

Hi,
I think ur laptop webcam driver not installed properly. If ur laptop have windows vista operating system then do these steps.
Goto Start - Programs - Recovery Manager - Recovery Manager. In that recovery manager, click on next. Its shows the Software reinstallation page.Click on next button two times. Its shows the software lists.Select the webcam software and click on next button. After reinstallation completed , u restart laptop and check it.
If ur laptop have windows XP operating system then u uninstall the webcam software through Add/Remove program and restart it.After restarting ,Reinstall the web cam software and check it. If u doesnt have webcam drivers then u go for nearest service centre and install it.

Thanks

Checked if your orbicam is in device manager (under imaging device),
if it still there, you might have wrong orbicam application installed. try to download the orbicam application, there are 3 type of orbicam for Aspire 5050 (suyin, bison and logitech). try to installed one by one.
or if you can try to reload the whole windows, using alt+f10 during boot.
