I have a graphire 4 tablet, it's about a year old, and I noticed a couple of months ago that the inside of the cord was turning green. A few days ago it started kind of blinking on and off while I was using it, the blue light turning off or sometimes just not turning green when I attempted to use it and tonight it died all together. I don't want to send it in for a repair that will take weeks and probably cost more than I paid for it. Its there any way I can just repair or replace the wire? I can't find replacement parts on the internet.

You might be suspecting a discontinuous USB cable at the discolored point.
I am thinking the same with mine.
Tomorrow I will open up the base and search for the point of causing problem.
If I succeed, I will post again.
Dear gounistat,
That was indeed the problem. The best solution, I suppose, would have been to cut out the damaged part of the cable and then then reconnect the wires to the circuit board. But I didn't have the means to do that, so I did the next best the thing which was to cut out the damaged part of the cable and then spliced the wires together using electrical tape. It is an inelegant and cumbersome solution but it worked. The tablet works fine. I stabilized the cable by taping it to the back of the tablet with more electrical tape.
