The pen activates at 5mm, not like moving around the screen, it clicks everything. The LED light is always green for it too. I tried changing the settings, but that didn't help at all. I even deleted the 'tablet.dat' file. I need help!
"Mine did this, too. I twisted the bottom half a few times (trying to take it apart) and it started working normally again."
I just wanted to reaffirm that twisting the eraser end 5-6 times solved the problem for me. Most likely it's not a cure-all, but another suggestion to try out.

Hi, Um does the "Mouse" work OK, if so I think ya gonna find a broken/bad connection inside ya "Pen" inside ya "Pen" you'll likely find a "Coil" of wire that is used for sensing. maybe the connections are bad?

I tried to solve the problem with my wacom pen EP150E.
It didn't work out...!
You can see a picture of it in this link:

It costs almost the same to buy a new tablet instead of a pen...

I suffered for months with this problem, could find no solution online until I came across this page.
I thought "Sod it" and like minnime I wacked the pen a few times on a hard surface and what do you know... It's working perfectly again !
At last I can use the pen again instead of the "airbrush" I've been using :)

I was just looking for the answer to this exact question (old tablet and pen $#!^ing the bed) when I look down at my pen and to my horror the big main button had popped off (I must have thrown my pen down, careless) but anyway that solved my problem it must have been that the button was sticking to the sensor, i never used that button anyway.

Usually answered in minutes!
i have a graphire4 CTE-440, and i get the same problem. i have tried installing new driver updates etc, and have tried replacing the nib in the stylus.
I'll pick up the tip of the pen and it continues to behave as if I'm still clicked. It's me nuts
my pen seems to not work no matter what.
i've replaced the nib all all that junk.
i'm thinking the pen inside fell apart or something.
i really need help,
(the replacement pen is effin 60 bucks!)
