After placing a clean CD into any of the 3 trays and starting it, I can hear one or two spins then it stops and I have a read-out of 00 00000.
I tried unplug and replug the unit and cleaning the lens with a "dishwasher CD".
No change.
The unit was working well last time, however it was some time (few months) ago. Might be dusty inside.
I dont know if you were able to solve the problem or you have discarded the unit. I had the same problemeverytime you remove it from the power and it was so annoying, no matter what amount of cleaning you do. It worked sometimes after 15 0r 20 loading and unloading of the CD.I was in t position to dump it but i took a chance. I opened the CD drive and found a sort of TRIMMER of POTENTIOMETER very close to the lense and just adjusted it trial and error. I read somewhere that increasing the intensity of the laser may help. Maybe I have increased the intensity and from that time on It never have any problem.

Your lens is dirty, very common and is considered routine maintenance.
3 ways to fix this.
1. Buy a CD cleaner, it is a cd that has little brushes on it that clean the lens as it spins. Can buy one for under $20
2. You will need a can of compressed air for electronics. Open up your cd tray and pull the power from your 360. Push the tray half way in and position the nozzle extender for the can of air right at the cd lens and give it a few blasts of air. It may take a few times to get the nozzle in the right place.
3. Disassemble your 360 (will void warranty) and take the DVD drive out of it. After the drive is removed you can remove the cover to the drive and manually clean the lens. Put it all back together and you are back to playing games and reading disks.

Optical lens requires cleaning. Please put cd cleaner in tray and check if it cleans dirt on lens. Still same problem, then unplug unit from AC outlet, take off top cover of hifi system and clean lens with good quality cotton bud. hope this will resolve problem.
It's likely it's dirt on the CD lens. You can try cleaning it with a lens cleaning disc. But if the lens has been damaged it will never read the disc again, no matter how many times it is cleaned.
Common Problem with AIWA 3 disc machines. I have 3 in my service shop right now.
For tray not rolling in on it's own, the drive rollers have to be changed, along with the Drive Belt.
Also, for CD not reading, try CD lens cleaner.
Hi Zoltan, I have exactly the same problem...have you been able to solve it ?
My unit has not been used for some time either....I suspect dust as well?
