CD Changer I've had 2 aiwa stereos and both have had the same problem. Right now I have the NSX-A115. If I put a cd in the changer the tray doesn't close on it's own. When it does, the changer won't read the cd. It trys to spin the cd 3 times to read it, then moves on to the next (it's a 3 disk changer). Usually when it does read the cd, (after a TON of coaxing) it won't play it. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

Aiwa NSX-MT70 Shelf System when I insert a cd, tray retracts normally. Then the changer lifts the cd into position, attempts to read the cd, fails to do so. Then the changer lowers the cd, revolves to the next one and repeats the error.
Any suggestion on how to repair . I really like this system and do not want to dump it over what seems to a minor problem! Thanks.

Common Problem with AIWA 3 disc machines. I have 3 in my service shop right now. For tray not rolling in on it's own, the drive rollers have to be changed, along with the Drive Belt. Also, for CD not reading, try CD lens cleaner.

I have an Aiwa NSX-R20 and the cd changer won't move so I cannot load 3 discs and if I close the unit it opens again. Please help

Mine did the same, look underneath the tray when open, you'll see a rubber drive belt which has probably perished. You may have to remove the cd carousel, one screw in the middle, for access. Replaced mine with an elastic band and am back in business.

I have an old Aiwa NSX-V150M Compact Disc Stereo System. I cannot load CD's into the unit. Pressing the "Load" button causes the internal mechanism to cycle up and down 5 or 6 spaces and then a "CHECK"...

Hi! I also have an (old) NSX-V150M that does nearly the same, I suggest two problems on mine: 1) maybe the laser assy has to be changed because it doesn't detect the actual CD anymore and skips to the next one. 2) there is a tiny limiting switch on the moving platform that seems defective, or the rubber belt (?) is too stretched, so that it doesn't detect when the CD is in place from the changer. Then the unit starts again "CHECK"ing, as when the memorized list of CDs doesn't match the detected list of CDs. For the first one, maybe the Sony KSS210 or KSS213 spare part could be used, not sure of it. For the limiting switch, I have glued a match to keep it in place to keep the CD part quiet. Result: no more CD playing for now, but the unit doesn't "CHECK" anymore, and tuner and amplifier still work great. Need to look inside one of these days.

CD changer goes in and out on its own. Then it stays out.

That model is known to have bad solder joints around the transformer in the power supply. I would open it up and resolder all the terminals of the large transformer, with the unit unplugged ofcourse, and then check to see if it works.

CD changer not playing CD's

If this did not help the problem by cleani9ng the lens, the laser is bad or the spindle moteo is bad. if this unit is over 2 years old, buy a new unit. Good Luck
