Clogged drain on moen bathroom sink

There should be a stopper valve on the sink's downspout (the first section of drain pipe). You SHOULD be able to loosen the nut holding the stopper valve's lever inside the pipe. Once you remove that nut, you can pull the lever out - that releases the stopper inside the sink, so you should start with the stopper OPEN, and hold it open with a chopstick or pencil or other tool when you remove that lever.

The lever and the bottom of the stopper itself will be wrapped with masses of hair. That's normal. Clean it up and reinsert it, put the nut back on & snug it down, then readjust the stopper.

If that's not enough, you may need to open the trap (the gooseneck-shaped piece of drain pipe under the sink) to clean it out.

Overflow outside bathroom dripping how do Ifix it?

Just make sure that the over flow is tight with gasket in place. And all fitting's tight behind wall goin gto tub overflow. If it is check out out next step

1-This is a common issue that comes up. Make sure that the shower valve plate is sealed and tight to tub wall. Reason why I ask that is when you take a shower water will find a way out, down the plate or if tile at the point of where it meet's tub. And will look totally like it's the overflow every time.

Leaking bath drain

Remove the hair strainer or pop up drain assembly if so equiped and using a basin wrench or two crossed screwdrivers unscrew the drain basket and remove from the tub. Clean the tub and the back side of the basket and apply a generous bead of plumbers putty to the backside of the basket and reinstall. Tighten it down squeezing out excess putty, wipe off excess putty and you are done.

Some people use silicone sealer in lieu of plumbers putty and it will work fine but is messier in my opinion and makes dis-assembly harder.

The kohler drain in my tub is partially clogged. How do I take it apart?

you must unscrew the shoe, that is the part that the tub water drains into.this sometimes can take a special tool.it is called a "*********",you can get this tool at home depot.put in hole and unscrew, careful not to loose washer under tub.good luck with your project.

Clogged drain

there is plastic plug that is used to stop the drain, when you pull the handle.
seems like the chain is broken off the the drain plug. the drain plug is one way plug.
the only suggestion I have is to open the backwall or the ceiling to get to the drain pipe. then you have to open the drain in order to fix this problem.
there is no easy fix, since you can't get to the plug that is in the drain, and the more you pull, the tighter it gets.
I don't suggest try to push the plug down, it may clogged the drain somewhere else.

Sewer Gas Smell Coming From Bath Tub

I can think of two possible solutions to this issue.

  1. The trap is installed incorrectly. The trap is the portion of the drain that is U shaped under the tub. The wastewater must come out of the tub and into the trap. From the trap it goes into the trap arm which must remain horizontal until it reaches the vent. This is very important. The vent must remain vertical until it is at least 6" above the rim of the tub.
  2. The sewer could be plugged. Not the tub but the main sewer line. When this occurs the water has no where to go so it forces the air in the line to take the path of least resistance and that usually menas the tub since the shower has a 2" trap. You may hear a bubbling sound when flushing. The drain may not be completely plugged so it would appear as an intermittent problem.
Hope this helps and please remember to rate this!
