Dell is directing me towards a new bezel (which is out of stock). It is not clear to me that it includes the actual wired switch underneath - which is all I need. Any part numbers or suggestions?
Why dont you contact the dell support again and call on the 18006249896
and speak to the suppervisor and explain what you want and he will be able to provide you the part number and than you can order it from the sales dept
The Front Bezel DOES NOT contain the On/Off power switch. If you remove the side cover of the computer and look behind the Bezel, you’ll see a green bracket which contains the power switch. Don’t know the part number but here’s the link to your model:

Just out of curiosity, what is the problem you’re having and what are the symptoms?
In 5 years of doing warranty home service for Dell I found only 1 power switch to be actually defective.

Thanks for your help. Months ago the on button in the bezel
became difficult. I put a little shim inside and the button
worked fine. Lately it got dicey again. With the bezel off,
it works ok. Sometimes I have to push twice to start up - but not
too cantankerous. When I shut down via restart, it start right up
no problem. I assumed that the mechanical part of the button
underneath , ie the one with the actual wires attached, is at
fault. Maybe a spring getting is losing its tension. What
do you think?
