Replaced the clutch and to remove shifter cable the(up and back)one, pulled it from the pin coming out of the trans. now the shifter just moves up and down into 3rd and 4th gear
SOURCE: Manual Transmisson Shifter
there is a bushing that keeps the shifter tight it shhould be under the car right under the shifter linkage before the linkage connects
SOURCE: our 1998 kia sophia wont shift in gear any
sounds like the shift cables are corroded or seized, forcing the shift may have bent the linkage. inspect and replace the shift cables and inspect the cable bracket, bend back into shape if required :)
SOURCE: gearbox jumps from 4th to 3rd
i suspect the modulator might be faulty and mayby
trans. filter would need replacement
SOURCE: 3rd and 4th gear ration is out how do i fix?
the rpm should go up before gear change, if the delay is not too long, then thats normal, however check to make sure your transmission fluid is at the proper level, you may also want to flush the transmission and add new fluid and filter.
SOURCE: car wont start and cant move the shifter like its
Try to jump-start the car.
Clean/repalce battery terminals.
If that won't do, you would need a better, fully chaged battery to at least get current to the shifter, and releasing it.
Get to the fuse box, and replace any broken fuse.
