When I push the start button on my dishwasher, the "hold 3 sec" light blinks but nothing happens and no other buttons work.

It sounds like the control panel is locked. See if one of the buttons says lock and hold it down for at lest 3 seconds. If the control is locked, that should unlock it. Its a child safety feature.

Locked light is stuck on

Are you pushing the button repeatedly or pushing it once and and holding it on for 4-5 seconds? Just push and hold it on for a few seconds till the lock light goes off.

The control lock light goes on as soon as I press the cycle to start the dishwasher. The dishwasher does not start, presumably because the control lock stays on. I do not know how to disable the control...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

To unlock the controls press and hold the HEATED DRY button for 20seconds. If the problme returns then only option is touch pad replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Dishwasher won't start and the green 'clean light' is blinking

your computer has detected a problem , most likely with the water heating. its locked up. Try pushing the high tem wash buton and then the energy saver button , push them back and fourth a few times(some modles its 2 other buttons) This should actavate a service check cycle where all the lights go on. Let it do its thing, and cancle after a few mins. if it locks up again you need service.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher Control Panel lights - some don't light up

about the only thing to try would be to remove the inner door panel to get to the control bd then you will see a mylar ribbon looks like a fat piece of scotch tape pull up on the plastic connector that holds it in and pull the ribbon out then get a clean pencil eraser and gently clean the ribbon and put it back in dont forget to push the locking tab back down then try it again and let me know

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher Model# 665.15912001

Yeah, I have a similar problem. I tried to go into a suggested diagnostic run, but that didn't yield anything. I tried pushing the Sani-Rinse and Air Dry buttons back and forth a number of times. Didn't help.
At first I thought the lock-on had accidently been engaged, but disengaging the "child lock" doesn't help. The lock-on light comes back on and sometimes blinks rapidly. I"ve counted around 7 rapid blinks at times and 3 rapid blinks at other times--in case that makes a difference. The control panel doesn't work--in other words, the dishwasher does not start, even when I can successfully get other lights to come on. I don't want to spend >$100. for a new control panel if that is not really the problem.
