connect to a computer through firewire(IEEE1394) and download to an editing software e.g Windows movie maker native with windows or third party software such as Adobe premiere. Some editing is required to top and tail your video and export as a suitable file for making DVD. import into Nero or Roxio for final burn in DVD format.
If you have access to a DVD recorder, connect camera to DVD recorder through Firewire cable and make DVD straight away.Do not forget to finilise the disc for compatibility with other DVd players.
You should be able to connect your camcorder to IEEE1394 socket on a computer, by means of a firewire cable, and capture the video with Windows Movie Maker or other software. Windows Movie Maker is part of WindowsXP and is already instaleed on PCs.
I have a jvc mini dv (model number GR-D820EK) and was not given a cd or a usb cable with it. I carnt transfer my footage over to my pc. Please HELP!!!! were could I buy the correct usb?????
You can download user manual in PDF format from this link: http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/JVC/GR-D770U-_E
but that's not a point. The point is that you can use any video editing software (with no driver), that accepts capture mode starting from standard Windows Movie Maker for beginners to CyberLinkPowerDirector, Ulead DVD MovieFactory or similar. This can be made by plugging your camcorder to PC via USB or FireWire (iLink, IEEE1394). Of course you can record to Digital Video Unit Equipment (DVD recorder) if you have one. Good luck!
After spending 3 hours to capture 30 mins of film which could not be edited even with JVC's own software. We returned the camera to the retailer and chose amother make and model.
