The belt keeps easing over to the inside edge of the pulley and rubbing against the tension bar, shaving rubber while increasing noise and resistance. The belt was replaced under warranty by a certified technician due to this problem but now after a few years of storage it is happening again. The axle bearing apparently has enough play to cause this problem on the down-stroke, and the pulley lacks a tapered inside lip to prevent movement beyond the inner rib. If no one has a solution, I will try to find a snap-ring large enough to slot in there.
Dear Si: Please do the following>
Detachthe ends of the pedals from the crank axles. Spread a layer of machine greaseover the crank axles, then reattach the ends of the pedals.2
Removethe bolts connecting the pedals to the swing arms. Detach the pedals from thearms, then spread a layer of machine grease over the axles on the swing arms.On some models, the bolts may also serve as the axles. Reattach the pedals tothe arms.3
Remove the bolts connecting the swing arms to theelliptical's upright. Detach the swing arms from the upright, then spread alayer of machine grease over the axles on the upright. Reattach the arms to theupright.
sincerely.

A single 1-3/8" (ID) snap ring on the innermost rib did the trick!
