How do i downgrade the bios in a aspire 4520

You should find the previous BIOS version on the manufacturer's website and use it to flash the current bios. Be careful. If you wreck the BIOS and can't reinstall it your computer will no longer be usable.

Pc hang up at f2 after bios update

Try downgrading the BIOS to a previous version then load setup defaults. After that update it again with the latest BIOS version. If it does the same thing then the bios package that you downloaded could be corrupt, you may need to download it from a different location.

Well I've been having problems with this computer for awhile. Last not I decided to give it another shot in starting up, it started up ok, as Windows Vista said it was missing a file, so later that night I...

You can't downgrade from Vista to XP. Windows had already thought of that and fixed your BIOS so you cannot downgrade. Load Visa back on and then post whatever problems you are having with Vista.

Problem after updating asus bios

The first thing I would try is to clear CMOS. Either set the jumper on the motherboard to do this, or even remove the battery, and wait half an hour or so. When installing a new CPU, and even RAM, you should always clear CMOS.

Problem after updating asus bios

Your flash utility should have stored a backup of the previous bios image. Fire it up and see if there is a restore function.

If there is not (but I am fairly confident there is) you can order a new bios chip from the manufacturer for $15 or less...with whatever version you would like on it. I find it odd that it would not recognize your processor type.

Typically I would not flash a bios unless there is a problem in the first place.

BIOS 1004 cpu not support

I got it :-)

Damn Asus , it was a hard session ;-)

1. Make an ISO from your original Asus CD denn insert (with isobuster or something) the Bios Firmware 1004 in the main Dir name the file M2N-MX.ROM

2.Burn a Second disc with the 0804 Bios ROM also rename the 0804 Rom to M2N-MX.ROM

3. Go to EZ FLASH with ALT + F2 and then insert the 1004 CD wait till Erasing is ready Then Turn OFF your PC :-) so you crashed the bios thats what you need to run the embeded CrashFRee Tool

4 After you turn your PC on insert the 0804 CD then it flashes the this Rom and we are Happy :-)

mfg Eddi Hope this helps someone
