When buttons are not working most of the time it is due to a short in the touch pad or the electronic control in a unit you would have to call for service if you did not know how to use a multimeter to perform ohms and continuity testing and measureing of both pieces. Usually though due to the button not working most of the time it is the touch pad though. If you have any further questions message me back Thanks again Rick
have a good look at front to see reset??.press it once it comes back on unplug from the wall and & open it up and go to the part and give it a good clean with wd40, check the push pad for ware & tare dirt gathers and builds up
If it stopped working after you dropped it, try this:
Hold the Zen in your hand, and with your thumb, press down on the face board as hard as you can. Use your other hand's finger to scroll up or down on the touch pad. Press down different areas of the face board until you find a spot that, when pressed, causes the touch pad to work. Then, using both of your thumbs, press that spot VERY hard until the touch pad works without pressing.

As indicated by others, the best solution for most people is to replace the touch pad assembly.
I went the cheap - time consuming route.
Jenn Air JES9800 Using the information from this forum and others I decided that the F1-7 error message was due to the touch pad. When I saw the price of the assembly which includes the touch pad I decided to take a look inside. With the power off :-) I disconnected the touch pad ribbon connector from the socket. Using a tool fabricated from a broken hacksaw blade hot bent 90 degrees about 4mm from the end, re-hardened and sharpened to form a knive edge, I carefully loosened the touch pad around the perimeter. The touch pad is applied to the frame with a flexible adhesive, so I was able to pull it off slowly without permanent deformation. I softened the adhesive with odorless mineral spirits and was able to remove the adhesive from the touch pad with paper towels. upon examination of the touch pad I noticed several breaks in the the printed traces. I carefully pulled away the laminate near the breaks, which were near the flexible ribbon connector from the touch pad. I used a the copper powder paint from a Permatex rear window defogger repair kit to (tediously) paint traces to complete the gaps in the printed traces. The outer trace, which runs around the periphery of the pad kept showing a very high resistance (> 5 megohms) until I scraped away a short light colored section of the printed trace and replaced that with the repair paint. The trace then showed a resistance of just under 1meg. I temporarily re-attached the touch pad with tape and the error code did not reappear. I set the clock and successfully tested several buttons. Next step - seal the area around the trace repairs so I can get some more years out of the stove, until the next repair. The cause of this is an obvious design flaw. The printed traces were all compromised in the area where there is no discernable protection over the traces, allowing moisture (I assume) to react with the conductive material in the traces.
Your control panel is getting ready to quit. Mine did the same thing, I ignored it and now nothing on the touch panel works. About $150.00 for the part.
Thats was happening to my sisters jenn aire just a couple monthg ago. I ordered a board for it but, the daybefore it came in I jauseled the front of the board attachment piece and made sure all connections we're tight... yada... in the maint field... you know hand search all connections with these printed led boards you can just have a loose connections and send bad signals and false board readings. And yes, even touch pads willact weird. So good luck, worked for me!
