The best you can do is reset all to default. If you got stuck in the middle of updating your bios you will have to contact support for acer....

if the password box is runing at startup bios when you press power button I think that problem belonged to inside the laptop, you must do maintenance in your laptop expertly inside the laptop on motheboard find to COMS battery and remove from motherboard during 24 hours after complete duration bring back into his place on motherboard , may be by using this way the bios password will be rest in Acer Laptop odels, but if the password run after runing windows like User Accout or Syskey .. you can see earlier answer we are alreay sloved in current site .. also click here to see this information ... you probable typed your password with the CAPS lock on - try typing it in with this ON

Underneath the ram (remove ram) is a jumper marked J3
short this out for a couple of seconds.

This will reset bios right back.

Boot and go straight to bios (F2) and set your options as needed there.

Eg date, time, drives,and any other options the bios needs to be able to boot the machine. When you have done make sure you SAVE then exit which will re-boot.

If you didnt mess any bios settings you should be back in business

1. Pop in the recovery disc (will lose everything on the hard drive)

3. Find a password recovery utility on the net (may need to pay small $$).

Did you set the HDD pass through Bios setup?If yes you can reset the pass by removing and then re-installing the BIOS battery.

Yes this laptop is a bit tricky...
You cannot just remove the cmos battery...
This s what you can try
to clear the CMOS, the jumper is below the RAM bridged with a screw driver.
2 shiny dots on the board below the RAM

It generally is under a flap under side of the lappy.. however if ya can't find it.. there are other ways.. I have given ya a couple of links to help.

bios password or windows password if so formatt it from a pawn shop reinstall fresh windows on it with new drivers should be ok if its bios in the computer nothing to do with windows then ya would need sum reset tool or new bios disk if thers battery thats usally on desktops sum labtops dont have them ok reinstall windows formatt it best best form pwan shop ones do it fresh
