Your laptop has got high definition audio drivers, i think you are using windows xp, because windows vista drivers are available on hp site, for getting the xp drivers you have to go to hp compaq site, go to support, go to live chat option there they will give you the link for the xp drivers

You'll have to go to motherboard makers website and download the correct audio drivers as windows 7 does not automatically install an audio driver.

Problem with audio driver

check your BIOS if the souncard is enabled.
install the chipset driver first
then install the sound driver.

be sure you are installing drivers for XP not Vista

Audio driver&devices need for compaq presario c700 pentium

it should be working after an install or formatting if it is not working just go to www.hp.com and go to drivers and support section and type ur Notebook model and u will find the driver for sound, download it and install simple it will work if u dont find it lemme know i will do it for u
