just matter of interest , check the bios setting, goto device manager and delete the CD Drive, reboot, still the same problem then it a hardware issue,
A Virus Would Corrupt or remove/Change drivers.
You need to remove The Virus.
You should then remove The DVD Drive Manually from The Machine.
Start the Computer without The Drive, then power Off the Computer.
re-install the Drive, boot up and Hopefully it should be detected in ( found new Hardware ) if not, go to add new hardware wizard, and see if it,s detected there. A Virus Can Actually lock-Off a Drive.
The tray release trigger might be jammed. Take a paperclip and open it up, slide an end into the tiny black hole on the cd bezel, this will trip the tray release and hopefully get it unstuck. There is the possibility that the tiny spring has come off the release or the release has just broken, but try the paperclip and see if it works.
Step1There are a few ways to get your dvd/cd drive release itself. The first thing you should try is shut your equipment completely off for a couple of minutes allowing it to cool down. Once you turn it back on try to press the release button on your equipment.
Step2If that does not work try to use a very thin flat tip screwdriver. Insert in on one of the sides of the dvd/cd drive and try to pull it out softly while pressing the eject button simultaneously. Do not force it out but give enough pressure while pressing the eject button.
Step3More than likely inserting a screwdrive should release the dvd/cd drive. You can also try a butterknife as well just don't use to much force. Something else to check for is to make sure the power is acutally on for the device. If you are trying to open a drive that is not even on it will never open up for you.
Didn't know the hatchback has key hole. mine don't. Anyways. climb in it from the inside and see if you can manually unlock the hatch. It's a little white knob at the latch that moves from side to side...lock/unlock. good luck
It has nothing to do with the "child lock" It is a know problem in this car, they tend to get caught in lock. Only thing to do, is to take of the panel then the outside handle, and through that hole destroy the plastic covering the lock, a large screwdriver and hammer will do! Then you can release the lock, while you pull the inside release handle. Buy new!
Turn on the system and enter CD mode. While pressing the stop button on the unit (the small round button with the dark square), press the CD Open/Close button on the unit. 'UNLOCKED' appears on the display.
Hi,
I had the same problem and i found out that if you hold down the fast forward and the rewind buttons with the power on and off button it will reset. It took me a couple of goes but after a while it worked. When you do it keep all of the buttons held down and a series of numbers flash for about a minute then it will reset. Good luck, Jeff.
